LOS ANGELES (Mar. 7, 2019) – The Premier Lacrosse League announced today that it will host the inaugural PLL Draft on April 22 at NBC Sports. This follows the rollout of team rosters earlier this week, which feature over 80 NCAA All-Americans and 30 World Championship Gold Medalists.

PLL Coaches will look to add the top college talent to their rosters as they prepare for opening weekend at Gillette Stadium on June 1st. “The talent pool in college lacrosse is so deep - there are quite a few guys who can have an immediate impact at the professional level,” added John Paul, Head Coach of Atlas LC. “We're watching and doing our research. I'm just hoping that the guys we identify are still on the board when we have our picks."

The PLL Draft will consist of four rounds, totaling 24 total picks between the six lacrosse clubs. PLL head coaches will have complete autonomy when drafting on behalf of their clubs, similar to the role of the front office in traditional professional sports.

“The PLL is built of the best players in the world, and we’re excited to welcome the top stars of the college game to our ranks,” added Josh Sims, Head of Lacrosse. “With 19 games on NBC and NBC Sports, the PLL provides an unparalleled platform to showcase the best talent in our sport.”

Broadcast details will be announced in the days leading up to the draft. Players that are not drafted may submit their names to the PLL Player Pool. Until a player’s collegiate eligibility is up, no player has to commit to any professional league. (NOTE: The MLL will hold its draft on Saturday in Charlotte)
