The Premier Lacrosse League announced the protected players from each of its six lacrosse clubs Monday night ahead of the expansion draft on Feb. 12 that will provide Waterdogs LC with the majority of its players. Teams were required to submit names by Monday at 5 p.m. EST, and the league initially said it would release the names Wednesday. Instead, it surprised fans with a reveal Monday night.

Archers LC

There were a couple surprises here. Fans didn't expect to see attackman Christian Cuccinello left unprotected, while midfielders Ben McIntosh and Joey Sankey and defenseman Jackson Place were other names mentioned as potential Waterdogs LC draftees.

Atlas LC

A handful of talented players were left unprotected by Atlas LC, including midfielders Ryan Conrad and Joel Tinney, attackmen Kieran McArdle and Chris Cloutier and defenseman Cade Van Raaphorst. Not to mention Scott Rodgers in goal.

Chaos LC

Midfielder Dhane Smith and veteran defenseman Brodie Merrill were left unprotected, as were brothers Jeremy and Miles Thompson.

Chrome LC

There weren't many surprises for Chrome LC, perhaps a result of the team's 2-8 record in the league's inaugural season.

Redwoods LC

Midfielder Sergio Salcido is a name that attracted immediate attention, as did the inclusion of faceoff specialist Greg Gurenlian. Though with the uncertainty surrounding Gurenlian for 2020, perhaps that wasn't much of a surprise.

Whipsnakes LC

The last of the six reveals, the defending PLL champs had arguably the most talented roster to begin with. It appears as if Whipsnakes LC will undergo something of an overhaul on the attack, with only Matt Rambo protected. The defense is almost entirely intact.
