Northwestern led 3-2 after the opening quarter of a nationally-televised showdown between the Wildcats and North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Sunday, but it was all Tar Heels from there in a 20-9 victory. North Carolina scored the first six goals of the second quarter, stayed in control from there and really blew things open with a nine-goal fourth quarter. Sam Geiersbach, a grad transfer from Richmond, had her best day in a North Carolina uniform, scoring five goals. Ally Mastroianni added four goals and Taylor Moreno was stellar in net, making 11 saves. Lauren Gilbert led Northwestern with four goals.
