Reigning national champion Boston College kept the momentum rolling with an 18-8 victory over Northwestern in its 2022 season opener on Saturday. Last year’s Tewaaraton winner, Charlotte North, poured in seven goals, had 12 draw controls and BC led wire-to-wire. Northwestern trailed just 9-6 late in the third quarter, but the Eagles scored nine goals in the final 16+ minutes of the game. Caitlynn Mossman and Belle Smith each added three goals for Boston College and Rachel Hall made eight saves. Jill Girardi led Northwestern with four goals and Madison Doucette made 12 saves.
