Forty-five youth athletes from the San Diego area picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time at a US Lacrosse TryLax clinic Saturday at Mira Mesa High School.  TryLax is a 90-minute introductory lacrosse experience for boys and girls age 6-14 who have never played the sport before. Each participant receives a Warrior Warp (boys) or Brine (girls) stick, a ball, a T-shirt and one free year of US Lacrosse membership as part of the $35 registration fee.

As of Oct. 22, more than 2,700 players had attended clinics conducted in 18 states this year, with the number of participants expected to exceed 3,000 by the end of November.
