Stony Brook edged defending NCAA champion James Madison 10-9 in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship first round at the University of Maryland. Nicole Barretta scored the game-winning goal in overtime. JMU led 6-3 in the second half, but Ally Kennedy scored three of her four goals after intermission to help the Seawolves come back. Anna Tesoriero made 12 saves to lead Stony Brook to the win. Maddie McDaniel scored four goals for JMU and Molly Dougherty made 11 saves. Photos by John Strohsacker.
