Syracuse honored its past, wearing throwback uniforms and honoring its 1988 and 2008 national championship teams, but Johns Hopkins spoiled the party with its first win at the Carrier Dome since 2007. The Blue Jays scored the first three goals of the game and never slowed up in a 17-8 victory. Cole Williams led Hopkins with four goals and Hunter Moreland won 17-of-26 faceoffs.
