Notre Dame downed Johns Hopkins 16-9 to reach the NCAA quarterfinals for the ninth time in the last 10 years. The Irish scored 16 goals, a school record for a NCAA tournament game, and the offense came from some unlikely sources. Sophomore attackman Morrison Mirer, the son of Notre Dame football legend Rick Mirer, had four goals for his career entering the game, but scored four times against the Blue Jays. Ryder Garnsey, Notre Dame's leading scorer in 2018, played for the first time all season after becoming eligible academically and netted three goals, as did Bryan Costabile. Joey Epstein and Forry Smith each scored three goals for Johns Hopkins. Photos by Matt Cashore.
