In a battle of two teams looking to reach the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time in program history, Denver prevailed over Michigan 9-5 behind a suffocating defense. Denver allowed just one goal in the first 44 minutes of action, with Katherine Fischer forcing four turnovers and Carson Gregg making six saves.
