Avenging its one-goal overtime loss to USC on March 18, unranked Oregon upset the No. 14 Trojans in dominating fashion, using a 10-goal run in the first half to win 18-11 at home. It was the Ducks' first win against a ranked opponent since 2008.

Maeve McMahon scored the first goal of the game for USC less than two minutes in, but the Ducks then exploded on offense. Jill Zubillaga knotted it at one a minute later, sparking the 10-goal spurt, which saw hat tricks from Mariah Gatti, JoJo Hesketh and Zubillaga.

The Trojans closed the first half with back-to-back goals from Emily Concialdi and Kelsey Huff to cut Oregon’s lead to seven.

The Ducks again came out on fire in the second half with a four-goal run, led by two from Natalie Modly, which forced the Trojans to take a timeout.

After regrouping, USC had its own six-goal spurt to come within five, but their streak was snapped by Hesketh at the 8:03 mark. The final 7:18 saw two more goals apiece for the Ducks and Trojans, but it was Oregon who emerged victorious.

Shannon Williams had a team-high seven points for the Ducks on six assists and one goal, while Hesketh finished with a team-best five goals. Gatti had five points on four goals and an assist. Lexy Biller and Zubillaga each had eight draw controls for the Ducks.

Kelsey Huff led USC with four points.

Northwestern Keeps Rolling

Behind five goals apiece from Selena Lasota and Sheila Nesselbush, No. 9 Northwestern dominated Notre Dame 20-10 for its sixth straight win and second straight with 20 goals.

The Wildcats jumped to an early 4-0 lead 10 minutes in before Maddie Howe got the Irish on the board.

Northwestern then responded with a three-goal run to go up 7-1 at the 13:09 mark.

Notre Dame finished the first half with a 4-2 advantage, but the ‘Cats still maintained a four-goal lead.

It was an even 2-2 battle to open the second period before Northwestern had a five-goal hot spurt to extend its lead to nine with less than 15 minutes remaining.

Over the next 10 minutes, the Irish had a 3-2 edge but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit. The Wildcats scored two final insurance goals in the final 2:33 for the victory, which matched their win total from a season ago.

Lasota finished with a team-high seven points while Shelby Frederick led with 12 draw controls.

The Wildcats (11-3) now turn to its final three games of the regular season against Big Ten foes – Penn State, Rutgers and Maryland.

  • Florida freshman midfielder Shannon Kavanagh set a program record with 12 draw controls in the 18-8 win over Villanova, besting the previous mark of 11 set by Mollie Stevens in 2017.

  • On her birthday, JMU senior midfielder Elena Romesburg recorded a hat trick in its 15-2 win over Drexel, becoming the 22nd player in program history to tally 100 goals. The Dukes’ 11-1 start is their best 12-game start in their 50-season history.

  • Stanford’s winning streak extended to eight with an 18-2 victory over Fresno State for the first time since a 10-game stretch in 2015.

  • With a 16-3 win over Arizona State, Colorado tied Stanford for first in the Pac-12 with a 6-1 conference record.

  • In Massachusett’s 22-10 victory over LaSalle, UMass senior Holly Turner tied the program’s all-time career assist record (119) with five on the day.
