The top six teams remain unchanged in this week’s Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20, including idle Florida Southern maintaining the No. 1 position. Lindenwood remained just behind at number two after collecting a pair of lopsided victories, and defending champion Adelphi posted its first win of the year and remains third.

Two other top-five teams – No. 4 Le Moyne and No. 5 LIU Post – were impressive in season-opening victories, as was No. 6 Florida Tech, which posted a pair of road wins over ranked opponents.

The only newcomer to the top 10 was No. 10 Mercy, which moved up one spot after opening the season with home wins over Merrimack and St. Anselm.

Eighteen of the top 20 teams return to action with games this week.

HOT

West Chester (+3)

The Golden Rams were impressive in their season opener, posting a 20-4 win over Georgian Court as coach Ginny Martino kicked off her 21st season on the sidelines. Tara Morrissey had four goals and two assists to lead WCU, while Tatum Altman and Trisha Baud each finished with five points.

Florida Tech (+0)

Although they didn’t move up this week, the Panthers were the only team to claim wins over two ranked opponents, sweeping No. 7 Limestone 18-14 and No. 12 Queens 17-8 on the road. Florida Tech is averaging 19 goals per game through its first three contests. The Panthers have won 13 straight non-conference games dating back to last season.

NOT

Limestone (-4)

The Saints were unable to overcome a seven-goal halftime deficit in falling to Florida Tech at home. Limestone committed a season-high 26 turnovers in the loss.

Queens (N.C.) (-2)

The Royals recorded their first win of the year, 14-8 over Tampa, but were outclassed at home by Florida Tech three days later. Ranked No. 5 in the preseason, Queens has dropped nine spots over the last two weeks.

NEW

Slippery Rock

SRU posted a dominating 19-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday in the coaching debut of Kelsey Van Alstyne. Twelve different players had goals for the Rock, which finished with a 39-11 advantage in shots.

OUT

Mercyhurst (previously No. 18)

After staying even with No. 4 Le Moyne, 3-3, through the first 15 minutes, the Lakers were unable to keep pace the rest of the way, falling 16-6 in the opener for both teams. Mercyhurst was kept scoreless for a decisive 26-minute stretch as the Dolphins seized control.
