After the National Lacrosse League postponed its three games during Week 5 amid a surge of COVID-19 cases attributed to the highly transmissible Omicron variant, the league issued a statement Monday evening that should quell any fears of another long-term shut down.

The NLL plans to play its six Week 6 games as scheduled, the release said, though the situation remains fluid.

Of the three games postponed last weekend, only the matchup between the Saskatchewan Rush and San Diego Seals has been rescheduled thus far. That game — originally set to be played on Dec. 31 — will now happen Jan. 14 at 8:30 p.m. Eastern.
