The 2018-19 NLL season, salvaged when the league and players reached a collective bargaining agreement, starts Dec. 15 with a revamped schedule. Check back to uslaxmagazine.com as we roll out our season preview — including Jack Goods’ projections, team-by-team capsules and additional features, some of which appeared in the December edition.

1. Rochester Knighthawks

The reigning East Division champs saw a breakout year from Joe Resetarits and a return to health for Cody Jamieson. Graeme Hossack, Jake Withers and Austin Shanks highlight a young core heading to Halifax after 2019.

2. Georgia Swarm

The main contributors are familiar, including consistent MVP candidate Lyle Thompson, Shayne Jackson, Jason Noble and Mike Poulin. The biggest change is a forward swap, as Jesse King was sent to Calgary for Holden Cattoni.

3. Toronto Rock

Toronto will benefit from a full season of Tom Schreiber, who was limited to 11 games due to injury. The Rock need to protect home floor better, as they went 3-6 at the then-Air Canada Centre in 2017.

4. Buffalo Bandits

Buffalo revamped on defense and transition, but goalie is up in the air. Will it be Zach Higgins, or is there truth to the trendy Matt Vinc to the Bandits rumor?

5. New England Black Wolves

The Black Wolves snuck into the playoffs despite their hot and cold nature and a negative 48-goal differential. There should be more continuity on offense with Callum Crawford and Stephan Leblanc around from day one.

6. Philadelphia Wings

The relaunched Wings boast an impressive offensive unit, featuring Brett Hickey, Kiel Matisz and No. 2 overall pick Chris Cloutier. The defense is green.
