Georgetown Visitation edged Bishop Ireton (Va.) 10-9 in overtime Wednesday on Molly McGuckin’s third goal of the game, and the Cubs are now No. 1.

McGuckin also had six draw controls and keyed the Cubs’ second-half possession. Sally Zinsner scored two goals, and Allie Boyce, Molly Finlay, Ella O, Megan Meyers and Madison Rassas all had one goal apiece.

The defense held Ireton scoreless over the final four minutes. Their next game isn’t scheduled until May 17 against Paul VI (Va.).

Manhasset rebounded from a stunning 13-12 loss to Wantagh (N.Y.) to defeat Farmingdale (N.Y.) and rival Garden City (N.Y.). Manhasset led 6-3 at halftime and pulled away from the Trojans in the second half to win 15-6. Sayville enters the rankings after a 3-0 start to the season, including a 6-5 overtime victory over Eastport-South Manor (N.Y.) in which Brooke Hoss scored the game-winner. The Quakers led 10-3 at halftime, thanks to their defensive effort, and they had more than enough offense to pull away. Margaret Lawler led with four goals, but Dylan Silar (three goals and one assist), Katie Buck (three goals, one assist and 11 draw controls) and Caroline Button (two goals and two assists) also had four points each. Libby Hock added two goals, Emma Greer had one goal and Hayley Kowalczyk made eight saves. The Quakers then broke out to another 10-3 halftime lead to stop another previously unbeaten squad, Rumson-Fair Haven (N.J.), by a 19-7 final on Thursday. Grace Lynch tallied three goals and two assists, Hock contributed one goal and four assists, Emma Dengler, Greer and Button each had hat tricks, and Silar led the team with seven draw controls. The Saints beat Episcopal (Va.) 18-3 on Thursday, led by Annabel Frist’s three goals, five draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Brooke Kurt contributed two goals and three assists, and Lane Lambeth added two goals, two assists, two draw controls and two ground balls. Cate Bradley scored twice and had two ground balls, and Haley Boston chipped in two goals and three draw controls. Mollie Kemp had two assists, and Mira Majure and Ella Webb each had two caused turnovers. Previous: 3

4. St. Paul's School for Girls (Md.), 13-1

The Gators beat Maryvale Prep (Md.) 12-4 on May 3 with Lauren Steer and Christina Gagnon both delivering hat tricks, along with two assists each. Esprit Cha and Natalie Shurtleff each had two goals, and Kendall Steer and Caitlin McElwee chipped in one goal apiece. Lauren Warehime made six saves. The win put St. Paul’s into the IAAM playoffs as the No. 1 seed, and the Gators defeated St. Mary’s 17-2 in the IAAM playoff second round on Friday. McElwee led with five goals in the playoff win, while Josie Hahn had three goals and Gagnon contributed two goals and two assists. Cha added two goals, and Kendall Steer, Lauren Steer, Hahn, Shurtleff and Karina Huerra had one goal apiece. Warehime made seven saves. Kate Galica delivered the game-winner on an 8-meter shot for a 10-9 win over Archbishop Carroll (Pa.) on Saturday. It was Galica’s fourth goal of the game to go with six draw controls. Rachel Clark also finished with four goals and five draw controls, and Alana Lepore made five saves. The Pioneers head three other wins last week, beginning with a pair of 17-3 win over Ridley (Pa.) and Lower Merion (Pa.) on back-to-back days, getting two goals each from Grace Shackleford, Rachel Clark and Megan Marengo. Eleven others scored one goal. Lepore made five saves. Conestoga defeated Springfield 17-9 on Thursday, led Melissa Hewitt had five goals and one assist. Clark scored four times, including her 200th career goal, and had nine draw controls. Galica had a hat trick with three assists, five draw controls, five ground balls and six caused turnovers. 6. Notre Dame Prep (Md.), 13-1

Notre Dame Prep beat Roland Park 22-6 on May 3 to finish the regular season as the No. 3 seed in the IAAM. Halley Koras tallied four goals and three assists, Caroline Colimore registered three goals, Annie Marshall and Regan Kawa each had two goals and Nancy Halleron added one goal, one assist and 12 draw controls. The Blazers opened the playoffs with another win over Roland Park 16-8 on Wednesday. Halleron contributed three goals and one assist with 10 draw controls, Emily Peek had four goals, Kailey Pelkey tallied two goals and two assists, Colimore added two goals, and Marshall and Koras each had one goal and one assist. NDP then beat Maryvale Prep 15-6 in the quarterfinals on Friday. Halleron finished with five goals and two assists with seven draw controls, Marshall added two goals and one assist, Colimore had two goals, Pelkey tallied one goal and two assists and Koras had one goal and one assist. The defending IAAM champion from 2019 and the No. 2 seed for the playoffs, McDonogh won its quarterfinal matchup against Archbishop Spalding 10-7 on Friday. Kori Edmondson made her return to the lineup with four goals, and Caroline Godine had two goals and two assists. McDonogh looks to avenge one of its losses this year against Notre Dame Prep in the IAAM semifinals Tuesday. Previous: 7

The Gators defeated Potomac (Md.) 20-7 on Friday. Sophomore Corey White had two goals and six assists to pace the offense, and sophomore Amanda Brille had five ground balls to help win the battle of possession. 9. Oak Knoll (N.J.), 8-1

Oak Knoll’s four-win week was highlighted by a 13-9 win over Ridgewood (N.J.) on Thursday, marking the program’s first win in the series in seven years. The Royals bolted out to a 4-0 lead and an 8-4 halftime lead, and Colleen Quinn and Lily Ramsey led the way with three goals apiece. Sophia Lambrianakos had two goals and came up with eight draw controls. Oak Knoll then beat Morristown 11-8 on Saturday. Quinn scored five goals, Devon Gogerty had two goals, and Sara Rogers, Claire Adelhelm, Annika Spoor and Annie Burton all chipped in one goal apiece. The Royals had opened the week beating Hun (N.J.) 14-3 on May 3, behind Lily Ramsey’s three goals and three assists. Spoor tallied two goals and one assist, Quinn added two goals and one assist, Adelhelm had two goals and one assist, and Rogers chipped in one goal and three assists. Penn Charter edged Archbishop Carroll 12-11 on May 4, thanks to Kaylee Dyer’s game-winner, which capped her five-goal, two-assist performance with an exclamation point. Mia Ferraro had two goals and two ground balls, Maddie Shoup added two goals and one assist along with four draw controls, Darcy Felter contributed one goal and six assists and Charlotte Hodgson scored two goals. Gracie Shoup had two caused turnovers and three draw controls, Grace Turner had four caused turnovers and Jamie Kubach made 15 saves. Penn then won another tight one 9-8 over Springside Chestnut Hill (Pa.) on Friday. 1. Milton (Ga.), 19-0

The Eagles are two games away from repeating as state champs after easily cruising to the final four. Milton defeated Creekview (Ga.) 19-5 in the state quarterfinal on Friday, as Maddie Dora and Skylar Carrasquillo each had six goals. That win followed a 20-6 decision over Lassiter (Ga.) on Wednesday, as Dora and Brie Catts each tallied four goals. Carrasquillo and Taylor Kozina added hat tricks. Previous: 1

2. American Heritage-Delray, 14-1

In a roller coaster Class 1A state championship, the Stallions defeated Lake Highland Prep (Fla.) 13-11 thanks to a stretch of scoring four straight goals in the second half. Freshman Brooke Goldstein provided four goals in the state final, including game-tying and go-ahead goals in the second half. American-Heritage Delray topped Community School (Fla.) 20-5 in the semifinal as junior Payton Wainman, a Penn State recruit, scored five goals. Previous: 2

3. Lake Highland Prep (Fla.), 20-1

The Highlanders came just minutes from winning a state title, relinquishing a second-half lead to lose to American-Heritage Delray 13-11 on Saturday. Syracuse recruit Olivia Adamson fired a hat trick in the final after her five goals Friday helped Lake Highland to an 18-8 victory over Ponte Vedra (Fla.) in the semifinal. Previous: 3

4. East Chapel Hill (N.C), 16-2

The Wildcats won a state championship after they pulled off a pair of stunning upsets, first defeating Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) 19-12 on March 22 in the state quarterfinals, then defeating Weddington (N.C.) 14-8 on March 27. Talia Zuco scored five times in the championship game. Sophie Halus and Molly Reed tied as the team’s scoring leaders with 56 goals each. Previous: 4

5. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 13-1

Following a perfect regular season, the Crusaders were upset in the state quarterfinals on March 22 against East Chapel Hill. Harvard recruit Caroline Mullahy racked up 40 goals and 77 assists in just 14 games. Sophomore Gracie Mullahy tallied 36 goals and 28 assists. Previous: 5

6. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 13-1

The Raiders won the class 2A state title by defeating Vero Beach (Fla.) 17-9 on Saturday. St. Thomas Aquinas outscored Vero Beach 12-3 in the second half. Navy recruit Ava Yovino scored six goals, and Ellie Riegner and Taylor Bank had hat tricks. Yovino also scored four times in St. Thomas Aquinas’ 8-7 win over George Steinbrenner (Fla.) in the semifinal. Julia Backenstrass scored the game-winner with 3:36 left. Previous: 8

7. Weddington, (N.C.), 17-2

The Warriors came one game short of winning a state title, losing 14-8 to East Chapel Hill on March 27. Senior Jordyn Case (Stanford) scored 82 goals and added 53 assists to close out her stellar high school career. Virginia Tech recruit Kendal Williams added 70 goals to complete her senior season. 8. Hockaday (Texas), 12-2

The Daisies were crowned Texas Division I champions by defeating Southlake (Texas) 14-11 on Sunday. Landry Grover, a Denver recruit, and Grace Hoverman each had hat tricks, while Minje Kwun, a Dartmouth recruit, tallied four assists and two goals. The Admirals won their playoff opener 25-7 over White Station (Tenn.) on Saturday. Josie Ward and Aliya Polisky each had seven-goal performances in the victory. Franklin faces Seymour on May 15 in the next round of the playoffs. Previous: 9

1. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 8-0

It’s hard to imagine a more impressive day than what the Ramblers had Saturday, as Loyola Academy toppled Mitten State power East Grand Rapids 21-10. Less than an hour later, they took the field against another top Michigan squad, Rockford, and won by a 14-3 margin. Ellie Lazzaretto, who was held out earlier in the week against St. Ignatius (Ill.) with a minor injury, exploded for seven goals and 12 draw controls against the Pioneers, while Maley Starr had four-plus goals in all four of the Ramblers’ games last week. 2. New Trier (Ill.), 10-1

The Trevians survived a close call against York (Ill.) to start the week then averaged 20 goals over three comfortable wins to close out the week — two against Glenbrook North and one against Evanston. Sophomore Kennedy Meier was especially dominant with 22 draw controls over the four victories last week and is now up to 43 this season. Previous: 2

3. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 17-0

After missing six games due to injury, Camryn Callaghan has caught fire, averaging more than four goals per game, including a career-high seven against Hudson (Ohio) and six against Dublin Jerome (Ohio). She is now up to 46 on the season with Kampbell Stone (36), Rian Adkins (33), Clara Gallapoo (31), Ava Walters (28) and Lilly Steltzer (27) also surpassing 25. Previous: 3

4. Hinsdale Central (Ill.), 6-0

The Red Devils beat Lyons Township (Ill.) and York by a combined margin of 40-8. Junior Annette Ciupek was a “game-changer” against York, according to coach Matthew McNiff, who noted that sophomore Angie Conley also continues to shine and Ella Beargie has stepped up on the defensive end. Previous: 4

5. Edina (Minn.), 7-0

The Hornets stayed undefeated with both Cordelia Flemming and Haley Reeck posting hat tricks in wins over Eden Prairie (Minn.) 16-8 and Rosemount (Minn.) 14-10. Reeck had a particularly wild week, with six goals and five draw controls against the Eagles and four goals and eight draw controls against the Irish. Previous: 6

6. Noblesville (Ind.), 12-2

It was another history-making week for the Millers, as Emma Potter set the program’s single-season record for points with 64 after notching three goals and three assists in a comfortable victory over Fishers (Ind.). Rheagan Haney also had a big week with five goals against Fishers, and earlier in the week, Haney, Potter and Brooke Miller scored four apiece against a Bishop Chatard (Ind.) team that has 10 wins thus far. 7. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 13-2

The Pioneers went 2-1 this past week, scoring a combined 44 goals in wins over Catholic Central and Marian and even managing 10 goals in a Saturday loss to top-ranked Loyola Academy. East Grand Rapids’ schedule remains brutal to end the regular season with a rubber match against Forest Hills Northern/Eastern (Mich.) on Monday, followed by road games in-state against Rockford and 10-win Brighton. 8. Minnetonka (Minn.), 7-0

Ava Rajala and Jordyn Helling helped the Skippers stay undefeated, combining for nine of Minnetonka’s 11 goals against Breck School (Minn.), while Hanna Baskin had six goals and four assists earlier in the week in a victory over Moorhead (Minn.). That sets up a battle of undefeated teams as Minnetonka plays host to Edina (Minn.) on Tuesday evening. Previous: 8

9. Carmel (Ind.), 12-2

The Greyhounds edged Cathedral (Ind.) 10-7 with half of their goals coming from Hannah Kim. As for Carmel’s second loss of the season, the Greyhounds shouldn’t be overly penalized, given Kentucky Country Day is undefeated through 20 games. Previous: 9

Up 8-7 at the half, the Lakers managed to control the second half by a 5-2 margin to secure the victory over Rosemount (Minn.). Payton Bloedow played a starring role as usual with eight goals for Prior Lake, which has won seven straight since dropping its opener to Edina. Previous: NR

The Mustangs’ opener originally scheduled for last week against Mullen (Colo.) was postponed and set to take place Monday. They also have games this week against Dakota Ridge (Colo.) and Denver East (Colo.) on Wednesday and Friday, respectively. Previous: 1

2. Scripps Ranch (Calif.), 8-0

The Falcons collected another quality win over a ranked opponent, beating former No. 3 La Jolla (Calif.), 9-3 on Friday. Scripps Ranch had beaten previously ranked Torrey Pines by that same score on April 29. Previous: 4

3. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 12-0

The Wolves completed their season, and the CIF North Coast Section will not be holding championships this year. Alannah Scott led SRV with 48 goals and eight assists, and Lauren Iorio added 33 goals and 20 assists. CoCo Wong won 73.7 percent of the draws she took and also tallied 25 goals and 24 assists. 4. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 9-0

The Knights beat El Dorado (Calif.) 18-1 and Edison (Calif.) 12-2 last week to remain undefeated. Taylor Puma, Zoey Stephens and Delaney Healy all had two goals in the win over Edison, with Healy added an assist, and Natalie Anderson added three points on a goal and two assists. Anderson led the attack against El Dorado, recording four goals and two assists, while Stephens also had four goals. Previous: 6

5. La Jolla (Calif.), 8-1

The Vikings added two more wins last week but suffered their first loss, falling 9-3 to Scripps Ranch. Luca Demaio had two goals and Ella Plaskonoa had the other goal. La Jolla had opened the week with a 15-1 win over Coronado (Calif.), followed by a 16-5 victory over La Costa Canyon (Calif.). Delaney Walsh led with six goals and five assists over those two games, while Stella Wineman had six goals and one assist and Paskonoa contributed five goals. Terra Evans scored a team-high three goals against Coronado, while Demaio added two goals and two assists in that one. The Islanders had their opener pushed back and now begin Tuesday against Seattle Prep (Wash.). They won their 2019 state championship with several sophomores contributing, and now as seniors, they are hungry to defend that title two years later after not getting on the field in 2020. The Raiders opened with two big wins last week, beating Denver East (Colo.) 20-2 on Wednesday and then rolling to a 16-7 victory over Kent Denver (Colo.) on Friday. The Panthers caused 11 turnovers and won 30 ground balls, also getting multiple goals from Lindsay O’Toole (two goals, one assist, six draw controls) and Penelope Reille (two goals) to remain unbeaten in Marmonte League play. The Falcons re-entered the rankings ahead of a big rematch with La Jolla (Calif.). They got some young players into the mix last week, moving seven players up from junior varsity for a pair of wins over Del Norte (Calif.) and Granite Hills (Calif.). Reese Loseke led Torrey Pines with three goals and three assists in an 11-8 win over Granite Hills, while Liz Trask added three goals and two assists.
