Denver saw a four-goal second-half lead slip away, but beat USC 11-10 in the first round of the NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship at the University of Michigan on Eliza Radochonski’s goal just 1:24 into overtime.

Radochonski had three goals and two assists in the victory, including the game-tying goal with 4:43 left in the second half after USC freshman Katie Ramsay had given the Trojans a 10-9 lead with seven minutes left in regulation.

The Pioneers, who improved to 4-0 in games against Pac-12 opponents this season, move on to meet Michigan in the second round on Sunday.

No. 8 seed Michigan made the most of its first NCAA tournament appearance, knocking off Jacksonville 13-9.

Jacksonville came into the game leading the nation with an average of 18.5 goals per game, but was held to its second-lowest scoring output of the season as Mira Shane made 14 saves, including 11 in the first half as the Wolverines took a 7-5 halftime lead.

Jacksonville spent the entire game playing from behind as Michigan scored four goals in the opening four minutes of the game.

As it has all season, Michigan (16-3) spread the wealth on offense with Molly Garrett, Caitlin Muir and Adriana Pendino each registering hat tricks.

Molly Brock led Jacksonville (17-4) with three goals.
