Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

  1. Kelly Amonte Hiller was blown away by the talent in the U.S. U20 pool.
Kelly Amonte Hiller was at the helm when the U.S. won the country’s fifth junior team world title in 2019. Four years later, the coach that recently led Northwestern to a Division I crown is back in search of another. She’ll do it with a team of the sport’s next generation of superstars. The 42-player training roster was announced Sunday after a three-day tryout in which Amonte Hiller was blown away by the talent on day one. Jake Epstein caught up with the Hall of Fame coach.

  2. Dave Pietramala is on the move.
Dave Pietramala will join Joe Breschi’s staff at UNC as offensive coordinator. Pietramala spent the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator under Gary Gait at Syracuse. His twin sons, Dominic and Nick, are on the UNC roster. Kenny DeJohn has more on the hiring, including potential replacements for Pietramala, the former Johns Hopkins head coach, at Syracuse.

  3. Emma LoPinto’s big summer includes a U20 training team spot, transfer news.
Emma LoPinto’s 2023 lacrosse season didn’t end when Florida bowed out in a 16-15 NCAA Tournament loss to Notre Dame. The rising junior who led the Gators with 90 points entered the transfer portal and decided on Boston College in late June. On Sunday, LoPinto was named to the U.S. U20 team. Epstein spoke with LoPinto in Sparks, Md.
