Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Monday, Oct. 9

October 9, 2023
Brian Logue

Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Back on Top

The U.S. women brought home the championship from the Super Sixes – Canada event with an 8-7 victory over the hosts on Sunday. Canada had defeated the U.S. 14-10 in pool play and led the U.S. 6-3 at halftime in the championship before the U.S. rallied.

Dempsey Arsenault put the U.S. up late and then Taylor Moreno made two huges saves to preserve the victory.

2. NCAA needs a new home.

The NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships are looking for a new home for 2026 after Gillette Stadium is no longer viable due to the FIFA World Cup in men’s soccer.

3. Brotherly love.

Truus van Wees, who will play with the USA Select U18 team at this weekend’s USA Lacrosse Fall Classic, got her toughness by playing sports with her older brothers.
