SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse announced today that Crysti Foote will coach the U.S. team that will compete at the 2023 World Lacrosse Women’s Super Sixes event taking place in Oshawa, Ontario from Oct. 6-8.

Foote, also an assistant coach for the U.S. women’s box team that will compete in the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships, was a star player and Tewaaraton finalist at Notre Dame who went on to play for Canada in the World Cup four times, helping the team win two silver and two bronze medals.

Currently a high school coach in Colorado at Regis Jesuit, Foote has coached at all levels of the sport and played in the United Women’s Lacrosse League. She was also a facilitator with the Athletes Unlimited professional women’s lacrosse league this season.

The Super Sixes event is slated to include six teams — Canada, Haiti, Haudenosaunee, India, Kenya and the United States. The U.S. is scheduled to play India on Oct. 6, the Haudenosaunee and Canada on Oct. 7, and championship play for final placements will be held on Oct. 8.

This is just the third time that the United States women will have competed in an event against international competition in the Sixes format. USA Lacrosse hosted the 2021 World Lacrosse Super Sixes event with Canada and the Haudenosaunee participating. Canada and the U.S. finished with identical 3-1 records in the round-robin format.

Last summer, Canada edged the United States 14-12 for the gold medal at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Ala.

USA Lacrosse will release its roster for the Super Sixes event later this month.
