EXTRAS
Not everything makes the mag. Here’s what we left on the cutting room floor.
What’s one thing that always puts you in a good mood?
Puppies. Lots of puppies.
What’s the most played song on your favorite playlist?
Currently Now’N’Later by Sage the Gemini.
What is your favorite hobby?
Traveling. I’d love to travel all over the world after I graduate college.
What’s your favorite sports movie?
“Remember the Titans.”
Who’s your favorite athlete?
Messi. What a legend.
If you could marry a celebrity, who would it be?
Ryan Gosling.
Who is your role model?
I’m lucky to have a lot of people in my life who inspire me. My role models would have to be my parents, Jeff and Annie. They’ve been nothing but supportive since I’ve picked up a lacrosse stick 16 years ago, and they have motivated me every step of the way. I look up to my Whittle siblings, Shane, Katelyn and Liam too! The coaching staff at Maryland inspires me every day, as well. I want to be as awesome as Cathy, Caits and Kenis when I grow up. If you surround yourself with people who will raise you higher and bring out the best in you, you will find joy in every day! I just made that up.
What’s one thing lacrosse really needs?
More punishment for fouls and yellow cards. The game takes far too long now when teams try to slow you down by fouling constantly.
What was the hardest move you had to master?
Something that I’ve continued to improve on throughout my lacrosse career was my shooting. I've always had a hard shot, but I've continued working on my shot placement and fakes throughout my time at Maryland. That's all thanks to Caitlyn Phipps who constantly tells me to shoot low. One day I'll finally listen, Caits! At the end of the day, you just have to keep shooting.
What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?
I traveled to Australia last summer with my England team. My Terp teammate Theo and I flew to Melbourne the day after the national championship, and I stayed there for about a month. I played a lot of lacrosse and spend a lot of time with some of the best people I know. Talk about an amazing experience with an inspiring group of young women!
Where did you go on your last vacation?
Ocean City, Md. My best friend is a lifeguard there, so I would hang out under her lifeguard stand for a couple weekends in the summer. Not necessarily a destination vacation, but a beach nonetheless.
It’s 2027 — Where are you and what are you doing?
Coaching lacrosse somewhere awesome with a super cute puppy by my side. I'll probably be married and living someplace warm. As long as my family and I are happy and healthy, I don’t care where I am or what I’m doing.
