The Boston Cannons sat in fourth place entering Tuesday’s matchup with the Philadelphia Barrage — on the edge of a potential MLL semifinal berth but far from certain. A win over the Barrage would boost those chances and put the Cannons in a great position.

The Cannons trailed on multiple occasions throughout the second half, but a four-goal rally helped seal a crucial 12-10 victory in Annapolis. Bryce Wasserman led the way with two goals and three assists, while Bryan Cole had a hat trick for the Cannons.

"With a short amount of time, we're still getting used to each other, but things are starting to click," Cole said after the game. "You're seeing some nice tic-tac-toe plays and that's ultimately what you're looking for as a team, that ball starting to move and guys starting to find where each other are on the field."

Down 10-8 win 5:06 left in Tuesday’s matchup, the Cannons needed a rally. When Brendan Sunday’s goal, which would have pushed the deficit to three goals, was called off, the Cannons got a spark.

Mark Cockerton and Randy Staats went back-to-back in quick succession to tie the game at 10-10, and Reilly O’Connor fired home the eventual game-winning goal with just over three minutes remaining. John Uppgren added an insurance goal with under two minutes left.

Denver Survives

The Denver Outlaws got everything they could handle from the New York Lizards, a team fighting for its playoff chances, but withstood a strong effort and a 90-minute lightning delay to down the Lizards 12-11 on Tuesday night. Ryan Lee led the Outlaws effort with five goals.

The Lizards kept pace with the Outlaws early on, getting multiple goals from Decker Curran and Connor O’Hara to take a 6-4 lead into halftime. Then, Ryan Lee showed why he’s been one of the most electrifying players in the MLL.

Lee, the former RIT star, scored four straight goals to help give the Outlaws a 10-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter. After the rain delay, the Lizards had one more rally. Dylan Molloy scored two of four goals in a seven-minute span to pull New York to within 12-11 with 6:13 remaining.

Neither team could add to their totals, and the Lizards were called for a moving pick on their last possession, sealing the Outlaws win.
