This article appears in the January edition of USA Lacrosse Magazine. Join our momentum.

Lacrosse’s largest educational event is heading back to Baltimore for 2023 — only this time, we’re going bigger than ever before.

The USA Lacrosse Convention (LaxCon) will feature some of the game’s brightest minds and top-level instructors, just like in years past. However, this LaxCon will feature new initiatives and a reinvigorated approach to content.

Heading to LaxCon later this month? Still on the fence? Here’s a guide for what’s in store Jan. 20-22 in Baltimore. If it sounds like a can’t-miss event (it is!), then be sure to register now.

A LOADED LINEUP

Come see lacrosse royalty.

Former Syracuse and U.S. national team great Casey Powell, Canadian national team star Dana Dobbie and NLL legends John Tavares and Dhane Smith join a list of presenters that includes some of the top collegiate and high school coaches in the country and several current U.S. national team and professional players.

LaxCon provides value for coaches, officials, players, program leaders and lacrosse enthusiasts across the country. Among other speakers confirmed at press time: Harvard men’s lacrosse coach Gerry Byrne, American women’s lacrosse coach Lindsay Teeters, U.S. women’s national team standout Ally Mastroianni, Hall of Famer Roy Colsey and current and former pro lacrosse luminaries like Michael Sowers and Greg Gurenlian. That’s not to mention world-class officials Lynn Bowers, Kevin Forrester, Jodi Michna and Sean Murphy.

GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE

If you’re looking for discounted LaxCon tickets, hotel accommodations and USA Lacrosse apparel, you might be interested in the new packages we unveiled in the fall.

A Bronze package gets you access to all educational sessions, FanFest and Friday’s Welcome Reception, among other perks. A Silver package includes all of the above, plus access to the Lacrosse Lounge and a 10-percent discount at the USA Lacrosse Shop. A Gold package adds hotel accommodations for Friday and Saturday night, features a 20-percent discount at the USA Lacrosse Shop and includes a bonus FanFest ticket for a friend or family member.

FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE FIELD

Select classroom sessions will be extended to include an on-field component, where coaches and players will bring to life the concepts they present inside the classroom. Whipsnakes coach Jim Stagnitta, Howard women’s lacrosse coach Karen Healy-Silcott and Synapse Sports’ Stephy Samaras are among those leading these immersive experiences at LaxCon.

THE BIGGEST FANFEST EVER

FanFest gives you access to the stars of the game.

For the first time, LaxCon will feature a dedicated FanFest field with elite coaches and opportunities for local youth players to step on the field with their idols — while also perusing the latest in lacrosse gear and technology.

In addition, fans will have more chances to meet, take pictures with and get autographs from the stars of the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams.

FanFest is free for kids age 5 and under, $10 for students age 6-17 and $20 for adults if purchased by Jan. 20.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

Want to meet like-minded coaches, players and program leaders who are passionate about the game? LaxCon will provide plenty of opportunities to do so.

From Friday night’s Welcome Reception to the networking event Saturday, there will be plenty of chances to meet those who share your love of lacrosse.
