Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Why is lacrosse such a big deal in Maryland?

USA Lacrosse’s very own archivist Joe Finn answered that question and more in the latest episode of “The Maryland Curiosity Bureau.” You can listen to the episode here, or stop by USA Lacrosse headquarters next time you’re in Sparks, Md., to take a walk through the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum.

2. Our stroll through the men’s and women’s top 20s continued with our No. 15 teams.

The Harvard men are still young despite gaining valuable experience in 2022, but what will the Crimson do for an encore. There will be a new goalie and faceoff specialist in place, but otherwise, Harvard returns just about everybody of consequence. More here.

Like Harvard, the Loyola women will need to replace some key figures — attacker Livy Rosenzweig and goalie Kaitlyn Larsson — but the Greyhounds don’t rebuild, they reload. Armed with one of the top midfielders (Jillian Wilson) and one of the top defenders (Katie Detwiler) in the nation, Loyola will lean on others to take larger roles this spring. More here.

3. Izzy Scane is back at Northwestern with a renewed approach.

That’s what she told Inside Lacrosse’s Matt Kinnear. Having missed last year with an ACL tear, it was the first time Scane couldn’t just ice up an injury and get back on the field. She had to learn who she was outside lacrosse, Kinnear writes.

More here.
