Weather in the Northeast caused some adjustments and disruptions to games over the past week, but every team in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women’s Top 20 now has played at least once, including defending champion Le Moyne, which opened the year with a convincing 17-5 win over Indianapolis last Saturday. All-American Bryanna Fazio scored a career-high nine points with six goals and three assists to lead the offensive barrage.
Mercy, ranked 14th in the preseason, this week debuts in the top 10 at No. 9 on the strength of a 4-0 start. The Mavericks scored a combined 30 goals in victories over New Haven and Southern New Hampshire last week. Limestone, 4-1 overall, also returns to the top 10. There are no changes this week among the top seven in the poll.
The marquee game this week comes Wednesday with No. 1 Le Moyne visiting No. 3 West Chester. Also Wednesday, No. 5 LIU Post welcomes No. 17 Pace. No. 13 Grand Valley State and No. 14 Colorado Mesa tangle on Tuesday.
