She tore her ACL at team USA practice on June 13th.
Colson was an IWLCA third-team All-American in 2019 after leading Maryland with 45 ground balls. She was second on the team in draw controls (127) and caused turnovers (25).
She was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament team after recording seven draw controls, four ground balls and two caused turnovers against Boston College in the NCAA championship game.
Already looking to replace a portion of its starting lineup, Maryland must now replace Colson for the entire season. Until this news, there was a possibility she could return late in the year as a boost to the Maryland defense.
Now, it’s likely freshmen Catherine Flaherty and Emma Schettig will both see significant time on defense.
