When you outscore a team ranked No. 2 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Lacrosse Top 20 all by yourself, a few accolades are likely coming your way.
Loyola junior Sam Fiedler totaled seven goals and one assist in Loyola’s 17-6 upset over Florida in Gainesville, and she’s the US Lacrosse Player of the Week for her efforts. Because of the win, Loyola jumped to No. 5 in the newest Top 20 ranking, released earlier Monday.
Her previous career-high in goals was five, a mark she reached two times. Fiedler has scored at least one goal in 36 straight games.
