Tanner Guarino (UMass ’14) scored three goals in the loss for the Storm.
Three of Esposito’s goals came in the first half, as Long Island jumped to a 12-2 lead and never looked back.
The game was a rematch of the inaugural UWLX championship game, also won by the Sound, who beat Boston 13-8 in last year’s final. Long Island (8-0), coached by Syracuse assistant and U.S. men’s indoor team head coach Regy Thorpe, defeated its eight opponents by an average margin of 4.75 goals.
