After holding the top spot in the ranking for the past seven weeks, Florida Southern’s 11-10 loss at No. 9 Rollins opened the door for a new No. 1 in this week’s Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20. And that new team is undefeated Lindenwood, which moved up one into the top position.

The top-ranked Lions will put their new ranking to the test with three games this week, starting with Monday’s match-up against No. 12 Grand Valley State. GVSU brings an eight-game winning streak into the contest. Lindenwood then visits Colo.-Colorado Springs Friday and No. 11 Regis on Sunday.

No. 2 Adelphi and No. 3 Le Moyne also moved up one position each this week, with FSC falling to No. 4. The rest of the top 10 remained unchanged from last week. Despite upsetting the number one team, No. 9 Rollins failed to climb higher due to its nine-goal loss at No. 5 Florida Tech three days later.

Games to watch this week include a top 10 match-up in the East Coast Conference between No. 7 Mercy and No. 8 LIU Post, and two big games in the Sunshine State Conference as No. 15 St. Leo visits No. 4 Florida Southern and No. 9 Rollins.

HOT

Lindenwood (+1)

The Lions didn’t actually take the field last week and yet made the biggest move by claiming the number one spot in the wake of Florida Southern’s loss. One of just three remaining undefeated teams, the Lions will have a chance to solidify their new No. 1 position this week with a busy schedule that includes a pair of games against ranked opponents.

Pace (+2)

The Setters have rebounded from back-to-back losses to conference heavyweights Adelphi and Le Moyne by winning three straight NE10 games, including their first-ever victory over New Haven.

NOT

Florida Southern (-3)

The Mocs suffered their first-ever SSC regular-season loss and had their 27-game regular season winning streak snapped with last week’s loss at Rollins. FSC rebounded with a lopsided 20-6 win at Embry-Riddle as Emily Santoli led the barrage by registering her 10th hat trick of the season.

NYIT (-2)

The Bears missed a chance to take control of the ECC race by posting their lowest scoring output of the year in a 13-7 loss at home to No. 7 Mercy. NYIT committed 31 turnovers in the loss.

NEW

Merrimack

The Warriors have won five straight and moved into a tie for fourth place in the NE10. Merrimack is on pace to reach double-digit wins for the first time since its 12-7 finish in 2011.

OUT

Bloomsburg (previously No. 17)

One week after moving into the Top 20, the Huskies fall back out as their four-game winning streak came to a close with a 17-10 loss at unranked Kutztown. Bloomsburg begins the week in a three-way tie for third place in the competitive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
