Last week, undefeated Lindenwood became the new number one team in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20 after sitting at number two for most of the season behind Adelphi. The No. 1 Lions survived their first big test as the nation’s top-ranked team, but barely, defeating No. 9 Regis, 13-12, on Friday. Sophie Buelow’s third goal of the game, with 78 seconds remaining, was the game-winner. A re-match could be just around the corner as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament begins this week, with Lindenwood and Regis holding the top two seeds.

In addition to the RMAC, a number of other conference tournaments featuring ranked teams take center stage this week: the NE-10 Tournament, PSAC Tournament and ECC Tournament.

No. 10 East Stroudsburg, which closed the regular season with a 10-game winning streak, is the top seed for the PSAC Tournament after winning the league’s regular season for the first time in team history. The Warriors (15-2) will serve as host for the PSAC’s final four, beginning Friday.

No. 2 Le Moyne and No. 3 Adelphi are the tops seeds for the eight-team NE-10 Tournament, which begins on campus sites Wednesday. If they survive the quarters and semis, the two powerhouses would meet for the second time this season in Sunday’s championship game.

No. 5 LIU Post and No. 6 NYIT are the favorites in the four-team ECC Tournament. LIU Post earned the top seed and home field for the championship game with a 12-11 overtime win over NYIT last week.

HOT

Colorado Mesa (+4)

The Mavericks have won nine of their last 10 as they begin play in the RMAC Tournament this week. Two wins last week helped CMU to climb four spots in the new poll. Mesa is the number three seed for the RMAC Tournament and begins play against Rockhurst Thursday. A victory would set up a semifinal match-up Friday against No. 8 Regis, which has handed CMU two of its three losses this season.

East Stroudsburg (+1)

At this point, each victory adds to ESU’s season-record for most wins. The Warriors, picked fifth in the PSAC’s pre-season coaches’ poll, are riding a 10-game winning streak and secured the number one seed for the league tournament by defeating No. 18 Indiana (Pa.) 16-8 in the regular season finale. Eight different players scored for ESU, led by four goals from Chessie Rahmer.

NOT

Pace (-3)

Pace has dropped three of four against a back-loaded NE-10 schedule that featured several of the league’s stronger teams down the stretch. Losses to No. 13 New Haven and No. 2 Le Moyne may not be surprising, but a season-ending loss at Stonehill Saturday dropped the Pacers to the number five seed and puts them back on the road at Stonehill in the conference tournament’s quarterfinal round.

NEW

Mercyhurst

The Lakers moved back into the Top 20 after closing the campaign with three straight wins, capped by a 10-5 victory at Lock Haven Saturday. Mercyhurst secured the number three seed for the PSAC Tournament and hosts Seton Hill Tuesday.

OUT

Wingate

It’s been a record-setting season for the fourth-year Bulldog program, but their first South Atlantic Conference championship appearance didn’t end well as No. 7 Queen’s blasted the upstarts, 16-0, in the final. Wingate finishes with a 13-5 mark and a new school-record for wins in a season.
