Two new teams emerged in the Nike/US Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25 this week. Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.) debuted at No. 16 thanks to a 10-9 upset of Ward Melville (N.Y.), while Smithtown East (N.Y.) has recovered from a 1-2 start with five straight wins to reclaim a spot at No. 21.

Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.) continued its ascent after a three-win week that included an intersectional victory over New Canaan (Conn.), joined in the top 10 by La Salle (Pa.), which has emerged as the PIAA favorite.

It could be a big week for St. Ignatius (Calif.), which returns east this week to play at No. 1 Landon (Md.) and No. 5 Chaminade (N.Y.).

1. Darien (Conn.), 5-0

The Blue Wave went 2-0 last week to extend their win streak to 36 games. They crushed Fairfield-Ludlowe (Conn.), 23-5, and then topped a strong Manhasset (N.Y.) team, 12-8. Logan McGovern netted four goals and Ryan Cornell stopped 11 shots in the Manhasset win. Darien plays at Fairfield-Warde (Conn.) and Wilton (Conn.) this week. Previous: 1

2. Chaminade (N.Y.), 4-1

In their only game last week, the Flyers topped Fairfield Prep (Conn.), 17-7, behind scoring from 11 different players. Chaminade plays California powerhouse St. Ignatius Prep and Yorktown (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 2

3. Victor (N.Y.), 5-0

The Blue Devils have won 49 straight after topping Brighton (N.Y.), 15-9, last week. Senior Mitchell Cain netted five goals on five shots to power Victor, which plays a pair of Midwest foes this week: Brother Rice (Mich.) and Loyola Academy (Ill.). Previous: 3

4. Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.), 8-0

The Seahawks went 3-0 last week, claiming a 12-9 win over New Canaan (Conn.), a 9-7 decision over John Jay-Cross River (N.Y.) and a 16-12 victory over Huntington (N.Y.). Matt Licciard had a monster game against Huntington as he won 19 of 26 faceoffs and tallied seven assists. Cold Spring Harbor plays Floral Park (N.Y.) and undefeated North Shore (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 6

5. St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 5-2

The Friars went 2-1 last week. They opened the week with a 14-11 win over Fairfield Prep (Conn.), followed with a 12-9 win over Boys’ Latin (Md.) and closed with a 19-10 loss to Delbarton (N.J.). Freshman Brennan O’Neill (Penn State) totaled seven goals and an assist in the two wins. The Friars play Iona Prep (N.Y.) and Niskayuna (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 4

6. Niskayuna (N.Y.), 4-1

The Silver Warriors had an easy week, topping Colonie (N.Y.), 24-1, in their only action. Niskayuna faces Albany (N.Y.), Troy (N.Y.) and St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 8

7. Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.), 4-0

The Warriors enter the rankings after beating former No. 5-ranked Ward Melville (N.Y.), 10-9, on Saturday. Senior captains Jack Sutherland (three goals, assist) and Hayden Frey (two goals, two assists) led the charge for the two-time defending Division I state champions. Previous: NR

8. Ward Melville (N.Y.), 5-2

The Patriots beat West Islip (N.Y.), 9-5, before falling to Lincoln-Sudbury to finish 1-1 for the week. Matt Grillo totaled three goals and an assist in the West Islip win. The Patriots face Walt Whitman (N.Y.) and Smithtown West (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 5

9. Jamesville-DeWitt (N.Y.), 4-1

Yorktown (N.Y.) topped J-D, 15-11, in a rematch of last season’s Class B state title game, but the Red Rams – who dropped down to Class C this year – rebounded with an 18-7 win over Auburn (N.Y.). Yorktown outscored J-D, 9-0, in the third quarter to seize control, though Andrew Barclay did his part to help the Red Rams with four goals for the game. J-D plays Cazenovia (N.Y.), LaFayette (N.Y.), and Fairport (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 7

10. Smithtown East (N.Y.), 6-2

Since a 1-2 start, East has won five straight games. The Bulls went 3-0 last week, earning wins over Smithtown West (N.Y.), Bay Shore (N.Y.) and Massapequa (N.Y.), to work themselves back into the rankings. Connor DeSimone had four goals and two assists as East held off Massapequa. Games against Riverhead (N.Y.) and West Islip (N.Y.) are on the slate this week. Previous: NR

Mid-Atlantic Top 10

1. Landon (Md.), 11-0

The Bears solidified their spot on top with a 10-8 win at then-national No. 6 Bullis (Md.) on Thursday. They got a great effort at the face-off X from Justin Shockey (Navy) and three goals apiece from Nate Buller (Navy) and Gilbert Sentimore. Another victory Saturday over DeMatha (Md.) ensured they’ll still be perfect heading into Tuesday’s matchup with West Coast power St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.). Previous: 1 

2. McDonogh (Md.), 8-1

The Eagles finished a tough nonconference slate with a dominant 14-5 win over Gonzaga (D.C.) on April 10. Next up, they’ll begin a quest to defend their MIAA crown. The first big hurdle is a trip to Calvert Hall (Md.) on Friday. Previous: 2

3. Bullis (Md.), 12-2

The Bulldogs trail Landon (Md.) in the IAC standings after Thursday’s 10-8 loss. They allowed two goals in the first three minutes and spent the rest of the night chasing. Alex Trippi had four goals and two assists Saturday as they bounced back with a 15-5 victory over West Chester East (Pa.) in Baltimore. Previous: 3

4. St. Paul’s (Md.), 9-1

The Crusaders made it through their nonconference schedule with only one stumble. Thanks to a defense led by Virginia-bound goalie Alex Rode, they’ve allowed six goals or less in seven of 10 games. They’ve had a week off to get ready for MIAA play, which starts Tuesday against Loyola-Blakefield (Md.). Previous: 4

5. La Salle (Pa.), 7-1

The Explorers have emerged as the PIAA favorite. They handed Conestoga (Pa.) its first loss, 12-5, last Tuesday before overwhelming an improved Radnor (Pa.) club, 13-3, on Thursday. Brett Baskin (Johns Hopkins) finished with five goals and two assists against Conestoga and added three goals and an assist against Radnor. Previous: 7

6. Haverford School (Pa.), 6-3

The Fords had their six-game winning streak snapped Saturday by Salisbury School (Conn.). Adam Salvaggio had two goals and an assist in the 9-7 loss. Haverford also beat Episcopal Academy (Pa.) last week and remain in good shape heading into the heart of their Inter-Ac schedule. Previous: 5

7. Malvern Prep (Pa.), 8-2

The Friars held serve last week with wins over St. Augustine Prep (N.J.) and Germantown Academy (Pa.). The offense racked up a combined 32 goals, with 10 of them coming from Penn State recruit Jack Traynor. This week, they’ve got a trip to Delbarton (N.J.) coming. Previous: 9

8. Delbarton (N.J.), 5-1

Chuck Ruebling's squad rode quite the roller coaster last week. Seton Hall Prep (N.J.) erased a late three-goal deficit Thursday to hand the Green Wave a stunning 8-7 loss. On Saturday, Delbarton hit back with a decisive 19-10 win over then-No. 8 St. Anthony's (N.Y.). It scored the final seven goals to turn a nail-biter into a rout. Garrett Samuelson (Tufts) scored five times in the victory. Previous: 8

9. Boys’ Latin (Md.), 6-3

The Lakers have lost two of their last three games, heading into MIAA play. They couldn’t keep up with then-national No. 8 St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) last week, falling 12-9 despite three goals and four assists from Matt Brandau (Yale). On Tuesday, they’ll host Severn (Md.) in their conference opener. 10. Conestoga (Pa.), 8-1

The Pioneers dropped their first game of the season last week to then-No. 15 La Salle (Pa.), but they’ve got a quality résumé highlighted by a season-opening win over Calvert Hall (Md.). Tommy Sopko (Bucknell) tallied five goals and four assists in Thursday’s 15-5 win over Mercer Island (Wash.). Previous: NR

South Top 10

1. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 17-1

The Raiders breezed past Stoneman Douglas 15-5 in a first-round state play-in game last week, as Kevin Crowley led the way with seven goals. Joey Guglielmo added three goals and three assists, and David Madril was a wall in goal with 15 saves. The Raiders play their second-round game at Oxbridge Academy (16-4), which upended previously-ranked St. Andrew’s. Previous: 1

2. The Woodlands (Texas), 19-0

The Highlanders kept right on rolling with a 17-3 win over Palo Verde (Nev.). They wrap up the regular season Friday against Kingswood (Texas). Previous: 2 

3.  Lambert (Ga.), 13-1

The Longhorns returned from spring break with big wins over North Forsyth (Ga.) and West Forsyth (Ga.). They remain unbeaten against in-state competition and have won seven straight since their lone loss to Calvert Hall (Md.), which was ranked No. 22 nationally last week. Previous: 3  

4. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 12-1

The Crusaders came back from their spring break with a 19-2 win over Pinecrest (N.C.). They wrap up the regular season this week with a rigorous run through the Maryland/D.C. area. They play Bullis (12-2), Landon (11-0) and Paul VI (10-3) on successive days. Previous: 5

5. Centennial (Ga.), 11-2                             

The Knights showed no rust from nearly two weeks off, as they returned for an easy 24-0 win over Martin Luther King (Ga.). Nicky Solomon led with four goals and eight assists, pushing him over 400 career points to become just the second player from Georgia to reach that threshold. The other was his brother Nathan, now at Syracuse. Colin Hall and Ryan Siracusa each added four goals, Luke Sadd had a goal, two assists, won 8 of 10 faceoffs and grabbed 11 groundballs. They play at the Legacy Cup in Atlanta this week with games against Northview (Ga.), Christ School (N.C.) and IMG National (Fla.). Previous: 6

6. Lassiter (Ga.), 10-2

The Trojans beat Lovett (Ga.) and Walton (Ga.) last week. They have a big week with games against Pope (Ga.) and Greater Atlanta Christian (Ga.), as well as ranked Memphis University School (Tenn.). Previous: 7

7. Ponte Vedra (Fla.), 19-1

The Sharks advanced to a second-round state play-in with a dominating 22-3 win over Fletcher (Fla.), as Clay Welch led with five goals. Reid Smith, CD James and Jack Burke each scored three. The Sharks play at Lake Mary on Tuesday in the second round. Previous: 8 

8. Memphis University (Tenn.), 10-2

The Owls have won eight straight since starting the season 2-2. They picked up a 15-5 win at Houston (Tenn.) last week. After a game at Christian Bros. (Tenn.) on Wednesday, they travel to Georgia to play Roswell and Lassiter. Previous: 10 

9. Episcopal Dallas (Texas), 10-0

The Eagles picked up a huge, 10-8 win at Highland Park early last week, knocking the Scots from the rankings, and went on to beat Skyline (Wash.) to stay undefeated. That was the Eagles’ only game against a non-Texas team. They play Coppell and Episcopal Houston this week. Previous: NR

10. Bishop Moore (Fla.), 17-2

The Hornets beat West Orange 11-5 in the first round of the state play-ins, setting up a rematch with previously-ranked Lake Highland Prep on Tuesday. LHP (14-6) beat Moore 11-10 on March 21. The Hornets’ only other loss was the Ponte Vedra in February. The District 12 champions have allowed 10 or more goals in just three games, including both losses. Previous: NR

Midwest Top 10

1. Culver Prep Academy (Ind.), 10-1 

The Eagles ended Everest (Ont.) Academy’s nine-game swing through the Midwest with its only loss on the trip, as Culver Prep pulled out a gritty 12-11 win on Friday. The Eagles carried the momentum into the next day for a dominating 14-3 victory over Kiski Prep (Pa.). Previous: 1

2. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 7-0

After gutting out a 6-4 win over Olentangy Liberty (Ohio) on April 10, the Golden Bears blanked Marysville (Ohio) 21-0 and topped Pickerington North (Ohio) 21-7 last week. Senior goaltender Davis Kurz’s nine-save performance was the difference in Upper Arlington’s win over Olentangy Liberty. Previous: 2 

3. Cathedral (Ind.), 6-3

Like many other top Midwest teams last week, Cathedral fell victim to Everest Academy’s potent attack. The Irish lost to Everest by a 16-3 margin on April 11 to end their six-game winning streak that included five out-of-state opponents. Previous: 3

4. Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio), 7-3

After losing to Everest Academy on April 10, the Bombers returned fire with an 18-5 win over Cincinnati Elder (Ohio) on Wednesday and an impressive 19-11 victory over Dublin Coffman (Ohio) on Saturday. Duke Alf paced St. X with 13 goals and four assists in three games last week before the Bombers added a win over Mariemont (Ohio) on Monday. Previous: 4

5. Brother Rice (Mich.), 5-2

The day after a dominating 22-6 win at Cranbrook (Mich.) on April 11, Brother Rice returned home to nearly blank Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (Mich.), winning by a 17-1 ledger. The defending state champion Warriors host Detroit Country Day on Thursday. Previous: 5

6. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 5-0

East Grand Rapids is off to its best start since 2009 after shutting out Forest Hills Central (Mich.) 16-0 on Thursday, followed by an 18-9 drubbing of Forest Hills Northern (Mich.) on Saturday. Ben Keller finished with with four goals and an assist in the Pioneers’ win over Forest Hills Central. Previous: 6

7. Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.), 6-1

Detroit Catholic Central has strung four wins in a row after victories last week over crosstown rivals University of Detroit Jesuit (18-2) and Detroit Country Day (16-5). Brennan Kamish had 10 goals combined over the two games, while brother Joey Kamish had a three-goal, three-assist performance versus Detroit Jesuit. DCC is prepared to host No. 1 Culver on April 22. 8. New Trier (Ill.), 5-2

New Trier continued its four-game winning streak on Wednesday with a 15-8 decision over Lake Forest (Ill.), as Nelson Gaechter tallied a hat trick and added three helpers. The Trevians have a busy week ahead with three matches, highlighted by a visit to Glenbard West (Ill.) on April 22. Previous: 8

9. MICDS (Mo.), 8-3 

MICDS has bounced back since losing to New Trier on April 8. The Rams pulled out a trio of wins last week, including a 22-1 victory over Belleville Township (Mo.) on Saturday. They also had wins over Christian Brothers (Mo.) and Parkway West (Mo.). Previous: 9

10. DeSmet Jesuit (Mo.), 8-3

The Spartans rebounded from their April 9 loss to New Trier with a 22-3 win over Vianney Marianist (Mo.) on April 11. Haydn Boldt, Tommy Trost and Paul Weber all had hat tricks. DeSmet has a crucial week ahead with matches against No. 9 MICDS and 9-1 Lafayette (Mo.). Previous: 10

West Top 10

1. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 9-1

The Mavericks cruised to a 19-4 win over Temecula Great Oak in their only game last week and now head into a test against 9-3 Palos Verdes (Calif.) on Tuesday. They haven’t allowed double digit goals since a lone loss to unbeaten The Woodlands (Texas) on March 15. Previous: 1 

2. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 11-1

The Wildcats bring a nine-game win streak into their toughest stretch in the schedule after adding a pair of wins over St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.) and Serra-San Mateo (Calif.) last week. Bryn Evans had five goals and one assist in the 10-6 win over St. Joseph’s. St. Ignatius already owns one win over a nationally-ranked opponent but now takes on No. 1 Landon (Md.) and No. 5 Chaminade (N.Y.), as well as 7-1 Garden City (N.Y.) within a three-day stretch beginning Tuesday. 3. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 12-2

The Wolves continue to build their résumé as they handed St. Joseph’s (Pa.) an 8-2 loss on April 10, then beat Foothill (Calif.) 14-6 last week. They play three games in four days this week, beginning with a matchup against 9-5 Redwood on Wednesday. Previous: 4

4. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 6-2

The Raiders coasted to a 15-1 win over Denver South (Colo.) on April 10, then picked up an 18-5 win at Heritage (Colo.) two days later. Nick Ringhofer totaled 10 points on eight goals and two assists in the wins, while Joe Kassal went a combined 27-of-32 on faceoffs. A tilt with Mountain Vista (Colo.) is up next, on Tuesday. 5. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 7-1

The Bruins seem to be hitting their stride, as they added wins against two West-ranked opponents last week. They tore through then-No. 2 Torrey Pines (Calif.), 15-4, on April 12, then did the same to No. 10 Columbine (Colo.) in a 14-5 win. Henry Savage had five goals and one assist against Torrey Pines, and Asher Nolting had one goal and six assists, while J.T. Simonton won 22 of 26 faceoffs. Previous: 6

6. Poway (Calif.), 12-2

A well-timed break should have the Titans ready for a big week. They’ve had nine days off leading up to Tuesday’s game against Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.), which is followed by a Friday tilt with Torrey Pines. Poway beat Torrey Pines to win the last two San Diego CIF Open titles. Previous: 7

7. Bellevue (Wash.), 12-2

The Wolverines rebounded from back-to-back losses against two Texas powerhouses to beat Plano West (Texas) on April 11 to close their trip to the Lone Star State. Bellevue fell 9-8 to Highland Park (Texas) on April 10, following a two-goal loss to Dallas Jesuit. The Wolverines resume play Friday at Juanita (Wash.) after a nine-day break. Previous: 8

8. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 11-2

The Sea Kings rebounded from their April 7 loss to La Costa Canyon (Calif.) with three wins last week. They needed overtime to slip past Bellarmine Prep (Calif.), 5-4, on Thursday but it was their third game on the road in as many days. Previous: 9 

9. Mountain Vista (Colo.), 8-3

The Golden Eagles join the rankings after handing Torrey Pines an 11-10 loss on Friday, their first game since a 12-7 loss at Cherry Creek (Colo.) seven days prior. The game with Torrey Pines was tied at 10 going into the fourth quarter, but Cam Hancock tallied his second goal of the day for the game-winner. Jake Govett finished with two goals and three assists, and Jonah Hirshorn had 10 saves in goal. Previous: NR 

10. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 11-4

Just two weeks ago, Torrey Pines was undefeated and sitting at No. 1 in the West, but now the Falcons are struggling to remain in the rankings. They’ve lost four of their last five, including three straight last week in Colorado. After dropping a 15-4 decision to Cherry Creek (Colo.) on April 12, they suffered back-to-back one-goal losses to Mountain Vista and Kent Denver (Colo.). Previous: 2
