At this point in the season, it seems almost unlikely that the top 5 teams in the country remain intact for the second straight week. There have been so many upsets that have caused the rankings to shift on a week-to-week basis, but we finally have calmness at the top.

Le Moyne took care of business last week, Lenoir-Rhyne picked up another quality win over Tampa and Merrimack, Seton Hill and Adelphi kept pace. Could we be seeing the cream rise to the top?

Watch out for the defending national champions, Limestone, which topped Mount Olive last week to move into the No. 7 spot. The Saints are playing their best lacrosse this season entering conference play.

HOT

Limestone (+2)

Winners of six straight games, Limestone has slowly crawled back into the top 10 and looks to continue moving forward. The win over Mount Olive on Saturday might have been the best this season. The Saints put up 16 goals in that game and have scored at least that number in all six victories.

Florida Tech (+3)

Florida Tech entered the rankings after knocking off two top 10 teams, and followed that act with a victory over then-No. 17 Rollins. After losing four of five to start the year, the Panthers have rallied off four straight with three ranked teams included. Up next is a tough Lynn team on Wednesday.

NOT

Tampa (-5)

The loss the Lenoir-Rhyne is the second of three for the Spartans, who have scored fewer than 10 goals in each of their three losses this season. There’s plenty of hope in Tampa, as this team has knocked off three teams that currently appear in the top 10. Another upset alert looms with Florida Southern on Wednesday.

Merychurst (-4)

The Lakers are in a rut at the moment, losing two straight home games to Lake Eire and Rockhurst. A team that boasted one of the top defenses in the country, Mercyhurst allowed 12 goals to Rockhurst in the loss. Seton Hill comes to town this weekend.

NEW

Rockhurst

The Hawks appeared in the rankings earlier this season, but dropped a matchup with Colorado Mesa shortly after. Outside of the Colorado Mesa loss, Rockhurst has been cruising through its schedule. It picked up a quality win Friday, taking down Mercyhurst on the road. At 11-1, it’s hard to ignore Rockhurst.

Florida Southern

The Mocs won a de facto play-in game for the top 20, holding on to beat Lynn in a back-and-forth battle. Florida Southern has won four straight games, including an upset of Colorado Mesa last month.

OUT

Rollins

Rollins had plenty of momentum going into a matchup with Florida Tech last weekend, but the Panthers scored five of the last seven in a game of runs to down the Tars. The road ahead is difficult, with three ranked teams on the horizon.

Lynn

Hanging onto the No. 20 spot last weekend, Lynn fell to Florida Southern by two goals and thus finds itself outside looking in for now. It will look to bounce back from the two-game losing streak with Florida Tech this week.
