With limited action thus far involving the top teams, there was only some minor shuffling in the first regular season Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20.  No. 3 Florida Southern and No. 5 Lindenwood are the only members of the top six to take the field, and both have recorded easy wins thus far.

The best win of the early season has been posted by Limestone, which jumped four spots this week. The Saints beat then No. 7 Florida Tech, 13-9, in a key South Region match-up on Sunday. No. 8 Rollins is also an early riser in the polls following a 2-0 start that includes a season-opening victory over SSC rival Tampa.

Three more top 10 teams open their seasons this week, highlighted by two big games for No. 2 Adelphi. The Panthers begin their campaign with a southern swing that features visits to No. 12 Florida Tech on Thursday and No. 3 Florida Southern on Sunday.

HOT

Limestone (+4)

The Saints, ranked 11th in the preseason, were impressive in their season opener, recording a 12-4 road win at North Greenville, and followed that with a 13-9 win in their home opener over then No. 7 Florida Tech. Six goals from senior Courtney Lafler led the way for Limestone.

Rollins (+4)

The Tars had a strong offensive showing in their opener, posting a 21-16 win over Tampa. Five players finished with five or more points, including junior Hannah Ashton, who tallied a career-high six goals. Rollins added a 19-1 home win over Westminster Saturday.

NOT

Florida Tech (-5)

A two-game trip through the Carolinas yielded a 1-1 start for the Panthers and first-year coach McKenzie Rafferty. Trailing by five at halftime against Limestone, FIT scored four straight to pull to within two in the second half, but couldn’t complete the comeback. A showdown with No. 2 Adelphi comes Thursday.
