Welcome back Division II! The season is only a few weeks old and we already have a few huge upsets in the books. Both No. 4 Tampa and No. 7 Adelphi lost to teams (No. 15 Lindenwood and No. 20 Lynn) much lower in the rankings.

Also notable in Division II, Limestone just got by Seton Hill with a last-second goal. We don’t know whether that means Limestone has receded to the pack or if the pack is closing in. Time will tell.

No. 1 Le Moyne holds steady.

HOT

Lindenwood (+8)

Lindenwood made the best of two home games so far this season. For the first act, the Lions beat Shorter 27-1 on Feb. 11. It was a blowout of a team not close in ranking, but it was impressive nonetheless.

To top it off, Lindenwood took down No. 4 Tampa 6-5 on Saturday. It was a huge win, and thanks to a few other upsets, the jump was just as large for the Lions.

Lynn (+9)

It’s early in the season and many teams either haven’t played or have not faced top competition. Lynn did and made an early statement, beating No. 7 Adelphi 9-7 on Saturday. And like Lindenwood, Lynn also added a 20-goal win.

NOT

LIU Post (-7)

The Pioneers opened the season with a 14-11 loss to Saint Leo. Yes, LIU Post did get a win over Florida Southern on Feb. 6, but a loss to Merrimack this weekend erased the progress made since the Saint Leo game.

And the loss to Merrimack wasn’t close at 12-5. LIU Post will really want to beat Adelphi this weekend.

Adelphi (-5)

It’s not a season-making loss, but Adelphi surely didn’t want to follow a win over Florida Tech with the loss to Lynn. Adelphi had a lead in the second half, but couldn’t hold on. That LIU Post game is going to be big.

Tampa (-4)

Maybe Lindenwood is legit. Maybe Tampa isn’t what it was advertised. It’s way too early to tell, but for right now, the Lions get to nod over the Spartans via head-to-head. Plenty of season left for Tampa to get back into the Top 5.

NEW

Saint Leo

The Lions just missed out on the Top 20 to start the season, and with a win over LIU Post on Feb. 3, they make it in for this week. Saint Leo will get another test on March 4 with a matchup against Limestone.

OUT

Indianapolis

One game this season and one loss. It wasn’t to a higher-ranked team like a few of those in our rankings, but Rockhurst at home. Plenty of time for the second-year program to break back into the Top 20.
