Landon (Md.) just keeps rolling. The Bears sit at 17-0 on the year and No. 1 overall after getting past two rivals in Georgetown Prep (Md.) and Gonzaga (D.C.). Johns Hopkins recruit Joey Epstein came up big again, scoring six goals in a 10-8 win over Gonzaga on Sunday. He also added four goals and four assists in a 13-7 win over Georgetown Prep (Md.). Can Landon finish the season undefeated?

The biggest riser in this week's rankings is Calvert Hall (Md.), which beat Archbishop Spalding (Md.) and St. Mary's Annapolis (Md.) and remains undefeated in MIAA play. North Carolina commit Jacob Kelly dropped five goals and 11 assists in the two dominant wins.

The Blue Wave went 2-0 last week to extend their win streak to 40 games. Darien topped St. Joseph-Trumbull (Conn.) 23-4, and New Canaan (Conn.) 11-8. Kevin Lindley netted two goals and two assists in the New Canaan win. Darien plays Staples-Westport (Conn.), St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) and Ridgefield (Conn.) this week. Previous: 1

2. Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.), 12-0

The Seahawks, who have won 18 straight games, topped Locust Valley (N.Y.), 14-6, and Mineola (N.Y.), 18-6 last week. Ian Laviano totaled seven goals and two assists in the two wins. Cold Spring Harbor plays Seaford (N.Y.) and Greenwich (Conn.) this week. Previous: 2

3. Chaminade (N.Y.), 7-2

The Flyers picked up two more wins last week, topping Kellenberg Memorial (N.Y.) 9-2, and Greenwich (Conn.) 10-5. Regan Quinn totaled five goals and one assist in the two wins. Chaminade plays St. Dominic (N.Y.), Massapequa (N.Y.), and Manhasset (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 3

4. St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 7-2

The Friars were idle last week, as their game against Yorktown (N.Y.) scheduled for Saturday got postponed. St. Anthony’s plays Darien (Conn.) and New Canaan (Conn.) this week. Previous: 4

5. Victor (N.Y.), 8-1

Victor rebounded from its first loss in over two years with a pair of solid wins. The Blue Devils topped rival Pittsford (N.Y.), 6-3, and followed with a 9-8 win over Fayettville-Manlius (N.Y.). Zack Estabrooks scored four goals and Chayse Ierlan recorded seven saves in the Pittsford win. Victor faces Webster Thomas (N.Y.) and rival Canandaigua (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 5

6. Jamesville-DeWitt (N.Y.), 9-1

The Red Rams defeated Central Square (N.Y.), 18-8, and Cortland (N.Y.), 24-3, last week behind Griffin Cook’s 13 goals and one assist. The junior attackman and Syracuse commit now has 42 goals and 14 assists in 10 games this year. J-D has a busy week with matchups against Oswego (N.Y.), Fulton (N.Y.), and Fayetteville-Manlius (N.Y.). Previous: 8

7. Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.), 8-1

The Warriors went 1-1 last week, destroying Bedford (N.H.), 17-3, and dropping a 7-5 decision to Summit (N.J.). The Warriors built a 3-0 first-quarter lead in the Summit loss. L-S has a stiff test against Longmeadow (Mass.) this week. Previous: 6

8. Ward Melville (N.Y.), 10-2

The Patriots added three wins last week, most notably beating national No. 21 Smithtown East (N.Y.), 12-11 as Dylan Pallonetti and Dom Pryor combined for eight goals and three assists. Ward Melville, which also outscored Bay Shore (N.Y.) and Sachem East (N.Y.) 31-7, plays Half Hollow Hills East (N.Y.) and Sachem North (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 7

9. Smithtown East (N.Y.), 9-3

The Bulls split a pair of games last week, topping Sachem East (N.Y.), 18-5, before falling to Ward Melville (N.Y.). Michael Lantini totaled 10 goals and two assists in the two games. East faces Northport (N.Y.) and Connetquot (N.Y.) this week. Previous: 10

10. Massapequa (N.Y.), 10-1

The Chiefs have won four straight since suffering a 10-9 loss to Smithtown East (N.Y.) on April 16, including a notable 8-4 win over previously-ranked Syosset (N.Y.) last week. Mike Venezia recorded nine saves in the win. The Chiefs were scheduled to play at Oceanside (N.Y.) on Monday and also have games against Chaminade (N.Y.) and Port Washington (N.Y.) this week. Previous: NR

1. Landon (Md.), 17-0

The Bears powered through a couple of rivals last week to keep their bid for perfection alive. They grabbed an IAC win over Georgetown Prep (Md.) 13-7 on Friday, paced by four goals and four assists from Joey Epstein. The Johns Hopkins recruit scored six more goals Sunday in a 10-8 victory over WCAC front-runner Gonzaga (D.C.). Landon needs two more wins this week to finish an unbeaten regular season. 2. La Salle (Pa.), 12-1

The Explorers continue to rise in the rankings. They rolled past St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.), 10-2, behind four goals from Brett Baskin (Bucknell) on April 25, and then held off DeMatha (Md.), 10-6, on Friday in Baltimore behind three goals apiece from Ethan LaMond (Navy) and Mike Clibanoff (Ohio State). La Salle also beat Archbishop Ryan (Pa.) on Monday. Previous: 4

3. Bullis (Md.), 16-2

The Bulldogs beat John Paul the Great (Va.), 17-4, on Wednesday before downing St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.), 15-7, in an IAC clash Friday. Alex Trippi (North Carolina) continued his stellar spring, totaling five goals and seven assists. Bullis finishes the regular season Tuesday hosting St. Albans (D.C.). Previous: 2

4. Delbarton (N.J.), 8-1

The Green Wave handled Mountain Lakes (N.J.), 8-5, on Saturday in their lone game of the week. Matt Campbell posted two goals and two assists in the victory. That matchup could pop up again this week in the Morris County Tournament. Previous: 5 

5. Calvert Hall (Md.), 10-2

 The Cardinals remain unbeaten in MIAA play, thanks to two more dominant efforts. Jacob Kelly (North Carolina) registered three goals and six assists in a 14-7 win over Archbishop Spalding (Md.) on April 25 and added two goals and five assists in Friday’s 15-3 pasting of then-No. 23 St. Mary’s Annapolis (Md.). Calvert Hall will try to win its ninth in a row Tuesday against Mount St. Joseph (Md.). Previous: 8

6. McDonogh (Md.), 10-3

The Eagles drop after falling to then-No. 19 Boys’ Latin (Md.), 10-9, in overtime Friday in a rematch of last season’s MIAA final. They had a potential go-ahead goal late in regulation waved off by an offside call and then allowed the game-winner seven seconds into the extra period. McDonogh remains ahead of Boys’ Latin thanks to its brutal schedule, which includes four top 25 wins. The Eagles’ conference gauntlet continues against St. Paul’s (Md.) on Tuesday. Previous: 3

7. Boys’ Latin (Md.), 10-3

The Lakers tallied a pair of quality wins last week. After beating then-No. 23 St. Mary’s Annapolis, 13-9, on Tuesday, they defeated then-No. 6 McDonogh, 10-9, in overtime on Friday. Luke Shilling posted a goal and four assists before face-off man Jake Glatz won it with a goal seven seconds into the extra period. Previous: 9

8. St. Paul’s (Md.), 12-2

The Saints remain in the thick of the MIAA hunt after dropping Mount St. Joseph (Md.), 10-7, on April 25 and Severn (Md.), 14-11, on Friday. Logan Posner (Monmouth) racked up eight goals and three assists for the week. St. Paul’s heads to McDonogh on Tuesday looking to add a marquee win to their résumé. Previous: 6

9. Bridgewater-Raritan (N.J.), 10-0

The Panthers weren’t threatened last week in continuing their perfect start. They pounded Somerville (N.J.), 15-1, on Thursday and then easily handled Bronxville (N.Y.), 20-7, on Saturday. Sean MacKinney (Manhattan) racked up five goals and nine assists in the victories. Moorestown (N.J.) should offer the toughest test this week. Previous: NR

10.  Malvern Prep (Pa.), 12-4

The Friars rebounded nicely after a 9-8 loss to Episcopal Academy (Pa.). They avenged an earlier Inter-Ac loss to Haverford School (Pa.) with a 12-9 victory on Friday, boosted by three goals and an assist from Mike Fay (Notre Dame). Then, they beat then-No. 20 Conestoga (Pa.), 11-9, on Saturday, led by three goals and two assists from Scottie White (Ohio State). Previous: 7

South Top 10

1. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 21-1

The Raiders won their second consecutive state championship with a 12-7 win over Lake Highland Prep. They never trailed, despite losing starting goalie David Madrill to an injury in the second quarter. Back-up Ryan Leahy finished with nine saves. STA beat Benjamin in the semifinals to advance to the title game. The Raiders have not lost to a Florida team since May of 2015. Previous: 1

2. The Woodlands (Texas), 22-0

The top-seeded Highlanders won the Texas South District tournaments by beating Kingwood and Kinkaid last week. They have a first-round bye in the Super Regionals and play in the final Sunday with a THSLL Final Four berth on the line. Previous: 2

3.  Lambert (Ga.), 16-1

The Longhorns beat South Forsyth (Ga.) 20-2 to end the regular season with 10 consecutive wins. They begin the state playoffs on Wednesday with a game against Parkview (7-10). Previous: 3

4. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 12-4

The Crusaders begin their run at another state title when the playoffs begin this week. The Crusaders have a first-round bye and play in the second round on Friday against Millbrook. Previous: 4

5. Centennial (Ga.), 15-3                             

The Knights finished the regular season with wins over Lakeside-DeKalb and Westminster. They came from behind in the latter to win 12-11 in the final seconds. Thomas Watts and Austin Wise led with four goals each. Eric Cecere had 12 saves and Luke Sadd won 17 of 23 faceoffs. In the 22-0 win over Lakeside-DeKalb, Nicky Solomon, Colin Hall and Luke Sadd all had three goals. The Knights play a first-round game in the state playoffs on Thursday. Previous: 5

6. Episcopal Dallas (Texas), 16-0

The Eagles beat Dallas Jesuit 7-5 to finish the regular season undefeated. They have earned a bye into the first-round of the Super Regionals and play in the finals on Sunday with a berth into the state tournament up for grabs. ESD will play the Kingwood-Austin High winner. Previous: 6

7. Weddington (N.C.), 15-1

The Warriors haven’t played since April 21 and still have another week off. They earned a first-round bye in the state playoffs and await the Marvin Ridge-Asheboro winner May 9. Previous: 7

8. Highland Park (Texas), 11-4

The Fighting Scots lost their regular-season finale to St. Mark’s (Texas) but still earned the North District’s No. 2 seed for a pass through district playoffs. They play Saturday in the first round of the Super Regionals against Cedar Park. Previous: 8

9. Louisville St. Xavier (Ky.), 13-3

The Tigers finished the regular season with a 13-12 overtime loss to Midwest-ranked Cincinnati St. Xavier. They are idle until Kentucky Scholastic League Lacrosse playoffs begin. Previous: 9

10. Ponte Vedra (Fla.), 19-2

The Sharks’ promising season ended in an upset in the second round of the Florida state play-in games with an 11-9 loss to Lake Mary, which went on to beat Bolles and advance to the state semifinals. The Sharks’ only other loss was to Jupiter, and they had three strong out-of-state wins. Previous: 10

Midwest Top 10

1. Culver Academy Prep (Ind.), 14-1 

The Eagles extended their winning streak to 10 games last week with a 17-3 decision over Detroit Country Day (Mich.) on Friday and a 19-4 victory against Forest Hills Central (Mich.) on Saturday. Culver earned the No. 1 seed for the Midwest Lacrosse Challenge playoffs, which begin on Friday. Previous: 1

2. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 12-0

The Golden Bears’ perfect record was in jeopardy, but they came through in overtime to beat Cleveland St. Ignatius (Ohio), 8-7, on Friday. Senior Alex Rankin notched a hat trick in the tight victory, which followed an 18-1 romping of Gahanna Lincoln (Ohio) on Thursday. Previous: 2

3. Cathedral (Ind.), 10-3

The Irish survived a 9-8 overtime decision against Culver Varsity (Ind.) on Wednesday, thanks to Griffin Gallant’s game-winner. It was their second straight overtime game, both wins. Cathedral then had its match with Zionsville (Ind.) postponed until May 22 because of rain. The Irish were set to play Noblesville (Ind.) on Monday night. Previous: 3

4. Brother Rice (Mich.), 8-3

Coming off its huge upset of nationally-ranked Victor (N.Y.), Brother Rice nearly had a letdown, but Jack Kelly’s overtime goal lifted the Warriors to a 15-14 win over Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.) on April 25. The victory was followed by a 14-7 win over De La Salle (Mich.). Previous: 4

5. Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio), 11-3

The Bombers are out to a seven-game winning streak following a pair of victories last week. They defeated South-ranked Louisville St. Xavier in overtime by a 13-12 margin on Wednesday, and tree days later, they topped Olentangy Liberty (Ohio) 13-6. John Marrocco had a big week for St. X, scoring the game-winner against Louisville St. Xavier and had a seven-goal performance versus Olentangy Liberty. Previous: 5

6. MICDS (Mo.), 12-3

The Rams are in the midst of a challenging stretch, but continue to win games. They notched wins over Chaminade Prep (Mo.) and Webster Groves (Mo.) last week. MICDS has another big week ahead with contests against University Jesuit (Mo.) and New Trier (Ill.). Previous: 6

7. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 9-1

East Grands Rapids has recovered since its loss against Rockford (Mich.), posting four wins in a row. Last week, the Pioneers defeated Spring Lake (Mich.) 17-1 and Cranbrook (Mich.) 20-4. Hub Hejna scored five goals and added seven assists against Cranbrook. Previous: 8

8. Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.), 7-3 

The Shamrocks lost their only game last week, dropping a tough 15-14 overtime decision to Brother Rice (Mich.) in a rematch of the last three state title games. Senior Brennan Kamish scored four goals in a losing effort.  Previous: 9

9. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 8-6

The Ramblers are back in the rankings after beating then-No. 10 New Trier (Ill.), 7-6, on Saturday in a repeat of last year’s state final win. Loyola’s six losses were against top teams in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast hotbeds, including three top 25 opponents, and four of those games were decided by one goal. Previous: NR

10. New Trier (Ill.), 10-3

The Trevians had their nine-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with the loss against Loyola. New Trier has a tough test this week, facing MICDS (Mo.) in the first round of the Midwest Lacrosse Challenge playoffs. Previous: 10

1. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 15-2

The Wildcats celebrated Senior Day with a 17-6 win over Redwood (Calif.) on Saturday, as the Class of 2017 players combined for 13 of the goals. That followed an 18-1 victory over Sacred Heart Cathedral (Calif.). Ignatius wraps up the regular season this week at De LaSalle (Calif.) on Tuesday and at St. Francis (Calif.) on Wednesday. 2. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 12-1

The Bruins ran their win streak to 11 games with two more victories last week. After earning a 19-4 decision over Grandview (Colo.), Cherry Creek shut out Smoky Hill (Colo.), 14-0 on Friday. Asher Nolting finished with four goals and four assists against Grandview, and JT Simonton won 11 of 15 faceoffs. The Bruins face a big test against Mountain View (Colo.) on Tuesday. Previous: 3

3. Mountain Vista (Colo.), 10-3

The Golden Eagles came back refreshed from a nine-day layoff that followed a pair of notable wins over Torrey Pines (Calif.) and Regis Jesuit (Colo.). In their return to the field, they handled Highlands Ranch (Colo.) without problem for a 13-5 victory on Friday. Mountain Vista gets a chance to avenge its two in-state losses this week when it travels to Cherry Creek on Tuesday and Arapahoe on Friday. Previous: 5 

4. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 14-4

The Falcons used a 3-0 run in the third quarter Thursday to erase a 6-5 deficit and held on for a 9-7 win over San Diego Section rival La Costa Canyon (Calif.), which was ranked No. 2 in the West last week. Makail Fraboni (Navy) came up big for Torrey Pines, registering 15 saves to preserve the win. The Falcons followed the next day with a Senior Night win over Carlsbad (Calif.). Previous: 6  

5. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 13-2

Last week started off well with a pair of dominant wins over San Dieguito (Calif.) and Canyon Crest (Calif.), but the Mavericks couldn’t keep the momentum going against then-ranked No. 6 Torrey Pines (Calif.). Their 11-game win streak came to a halt with a 9-7 loss to the Falcons on Friday, despite five goals from J.J. Stillstrop (Denver) and 13 saves from Ryan Winn. Previous: 2

6. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 17-2

The Wolves outscored their two opponents 31-5 last week, including a 14-4 win over Acalanes (Calif.) on Saturday, but they slide down with a shakeup in results elsewhere in the region. They wrap up their regular season Friday at home against Monte Vista-Danville (Calif.). Previous: 4  

7. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 11-3

The Raiders went 3-0 last week, including notable in-state wins over Colorado Academy and Kent Denver, who are both 10-3. Regis held off a fourth-quarter comeback attempt by Kent to win 11-8 behind hat tricks from Jake Taylor and Quentin Birch and a dominant performance on the faceoff X by Joe Kassai. Taylor also had an assist and tallied four goals and a helper in a 13-2 win over Colorado. The Raiders close the regular season at Arapahoe (Colo.) on Tuesday. Previous: 7

8. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 15-2

The Sea Kings closed their regular season last week with a pair of wins against Tesoro and San Clemente. Their game against San Clemente was tied at 6 late in the fourth quarter, but Ryan Meckler tallied two of CdM’s final four goals to push the Sea Kings to an 11-7 win Saturday. The Orange County playoffs begin Tuesday. Previous: 9   

9. Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.), 16-4

The Cubs rejoin the rankings after avenging an overtime loss to unbeaten Harvard-Westlake (Calif.) last week, collecting a 13-6 win at home April 25 in the regular-season finale. Loyola, which shares the Mission League title with Harvard, has one loss to a team that hasn’t been ranked this season and owns notable victories over Poway (Calif.) and Oak Park (Calif.). 10. Eastside Catholic (Wash.), 10-2

The Crusaders enter the rankings with help from Mercer Island (Wash.) upsetting previously-ranked Bellevue (Wash.) last week. Eastside is coming off a 15-11 win over Bainbridge Island (Wash.) on Friday and its two losses were both by one goal, only one coming against an in-state or even in-region foe. The Crusaders have won four straight since a loss to Skyline (Wash.), a streak that began with an eight-goal win over Mercer Island. Previous: NR
