Coastal Carolina has relieved women’s lacrosse head coach Kristen Selvage of her duties, effective immediately, the university announced Tuesday.
 
“We thank Coach Selvage for her service to CCU athletics, and we look forward to the next chapter in Chanticleer women’s lacrosse,” said Matt Hogue, Coastal Carolina’s vice president of intercollegiate athletics and university recreation.
 
The Chants will immediately begin a national search for the third head coach in program history.
 
Selvage went 58-38 in six seasons at the helm of Coastal Carolina. She was introduced as the second head coach of the Coastal Carolina lacrosse program on Aug. 18, 2015, and led the program to an 11-7 record in her first season.

Outside of a 2-3 record in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Coastal Carolina posted a winning record in each of Selvage’s seasons in charge of the program. The Chanticleers lost to Mercer in the semifinals of the SoCon tournament in May.

Coastal will rejoin the ASUN Conference this upcoming season after playing in the Southern Conference.
