ATLANTA — Bolstered by a monster win over a ranked MCLA Division I team, Kennesaw State has ascended to the top spot of the New Balance MCLA Division II Weekly Coaches Poll.

The Owls (7-0) grabbed 11 of the 24 first-place votes cast this week to leapfrog two teams and land at the top of the chart. Beating then-No. 19 Georgia on the road certainly factored in the pollster’s confidence in Kennesaw.

St. Thomas (6-2) only lost one first-place vote from the previous week, but it was enough to leave the Tommies four points back of Kennesaw. College of Idaho (6-0) also dropped a spot, dipping from No. 2 to No. 3, although it did snag four top votes.

Rhode Island (5-1) remains at No. 4 and is followed by Dayton (5-1) at No. 5. The Flyers grabbed the final first-place vote. There were no additions or subtractions to the poll this week.
