Katrina Dowd has always been different. Growing up in Yorktown, Dowd idolized creative players like Mikey Powell.

Eventually, she chose to head to Evanston, Ill. to attend Northwestern, a school rising in prominence in the lacrosse world. Four years later, Dowd left at the beginning of a dynasty.

Now back in her second stint with the U.S. national team, Dowd said her skill is what has given her longevity. Dowd talks with fellow Yorktown native Paul Carcaterra about her lacrosse journey.
