Redwoods LC attackman Jules Heningburg has exited the PLL Championship Series.
Monday on Twitter, Heningburg revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 in June but was asymptomatic. Upon further testing when he arrived in Utah for the Championship Series, doctors discovered that Heningburg is at high risk for cardiac arrest under high intensity training.
"I have been training for a month very hard, unaware that my heart and body could have failed me at any moment," he wrote. "To think that it could have been my last run up the hill and never even known is an uncomfortable feeling to say the least."
Thank you @NatStLaurentPL, Dr Logan and @PremierLacrosse for looking out for me. This game and why I play is bigger than me, I wanted to prove that this series. Cant wait to support my teammates and watch the best lacrosse experience to date happen, Roll Woods pic.twitter.com/fcAjNncj1V

Heninburg thanked PLL doctors and Redwoods LC coach Nat St. Laurent for their support.
Heningburg, who has been an outspoken leader in the lacrosse community during the Black Lives Matter movement, also revealed custom Black Lives Matter gloves that he planned to wear during the Championship Series.
In May, just after the death of George Floyd, he penned a powerful piece about identity for US Lacrosse Magazine.
As one of the top attackman in the PLL, Heningburg accrued 25 goals and 39 points last season, helping the Redwoods reach the title game.
