Jane Earley, who scored 14 goals with three assists in four games during Middlebury's NCAA championship run in 2019 as a freshman, has been named the US Lacrosse Magazine Division III Women’s Preseason Player of the Year.

A breakout season in 2020 was expected, but that season was of course shortened due to COVID-19. In Middlebury's 3-0 start, she had 12 goals and five assists and was poised to do more than just be a complimentary weapon on offense. Earley took a gap semester this fall to retain her eligibility through 2023, so she could be a staple in the Division III awards discussion for years to come.

The attacker with a background in the midfield is one of the most dominant forces in Division III. Expect more of the same from her in 2021.
