The least predictable conference in women's lacrosse lived up to its reputation Friday, as both CAA semifinals at Towson went to overtime.

Top-seeded and 19th-ranked James Madison survived an upset bid by Delaware, as CAA Player of the Year Haley Warden scored the game-winning goal 1:04 into overtime for an 11-10 victory, bailing out the Dukes after they coughed up a four-goal lead late in regulation.

In the nightcap, Stephanie Asher scored her fourth goal with 2:15 remaining in overtime to lift third-seeded Elon to a 10-9 win over second-seeded and 18th-ranked Towson. The Phoenix trailed by two with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation before rallying to force overtime.

Elon, in just its fourth season, will play James Madison in the CAA championship game Sunday with a chance to lock up an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.  It was the Phoenix's first win over Towson in five tries.

Hompe Leads Princeton Romp Over Penn

No. 7 Princeton is returning to the Ivy League Tournament Championship game after defeating No. 6 Penn in historic fashion in a 17-8 game at Schoellkopf Field.

The 17 goals are not only an Ivy League tournament record for goals in a game, but it also the most goals the Quakers have allowed in a game since the 2006 season. More records fell, as senior Olivia Hompe set a tournament record for points in a game with nine, surpassing former teammate Erin McMunn's seven, and her six assists is the most assists in a tournament game.

The Tigers will face Cornell on Sunday at 11 a.m., in Ithaca, with an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament on the line. Hompe will have a chance to make more history, as she is just one point away from the all-time Princeton points record of 270, held by Crista Samaras since 1999.

Maryland Holds Off Hopkins

Johns Hopkins gave top-seeded and top-ranked Maryland all it could handle in the Big Ten semifinals Friday, but Megan Whittle scored five goals to lead the Terps to a 19-16 victory in College Park. Whittle, a junior, became just the sixth player in Maryland history to surpass 200 career goals. The Terps will play either Northwestern or Penn State in the Big Ten championship game Sunday.
