Alyssa Parrella has been a stalwart for Hofstra women’s lacrosse over the course of past few years, helping the Pride to victory on many occasions. She was up to the task on Saturday at Tierney Field against a surging High Point team.

Parrella scored six goals and added two assists to lead Hofstra to the 13-10 victory over the Panthers at US Lacrosse Headquarters. She did so on just seven shots — and she also won a draw control.

In total, Parrella stands as the nation’s fourth-leading scorer, with 4.38 goals per game. Her eight-point game against High Point warrants Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week honors.

The Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week, selected by the US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, recognizes the top performers in Division I women’s lacrosse throughout the season.
