Earned, not given.

The mantra that followed the heavily favored, but still hungry U.S. women’s national team since its inception as a 36-player training roster in August 2016, proved particularly poignant in a hotly contested FIL Women’s World Cup championship game Saturday. Team USA held off Canada for a 10-5 victory to claim its third straight gold medal and eighth overall. Sarah Bullard, a three-time World Cup veteran playing in the final game of her career, scored three goals to earn Player of the Match honors.

The U.S. now turns its attention to The World Games, a multi-sport event hosted by the International World Games Association, in Wroclaw, Poland. Team USA plays host Poland on Thursday.
