Maryvale (Md.) Continues Climbing Nike/USA Lacrosse Girls' Top 25
The top four from the last update return to the top in the Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25 — led by Darien (Conn.), which faces a showdown with No. 4 New Canaan (Conn.) this week. Their matchup guarantees that not every one of the seven unbeaten teams will remain so after this week.
Maryvale (Md.) is a team that has been trying to build its program in the toughest conference in the country. The Lions took a step forward with a key IAAM A Conference win over Glenelg Country (Md.) to earn their highest ranking yet at No. 6.
Losses by Ward Melville (N.Y.), Agnes Irwin (Pa.) and Wantagh (N.Y.) brought additional changes to the top 10.
Summit (N.J.) makes the highest debut in the Top 25 out of three new teams in the rankings at No. 14. Newly ranked in the Northeast, North Shore (N.Y.) and Rush-Henrietta (N.Y.) used hot starts to position themselves in the top 20 in their debuts.
