The regular season has hit the stretch run, and two wins last week kept William Smith atop the Nike/US Lacrosse Division III Women's Top 20. The Herons own at least a share of the Liberty League regular-season title with two games remaining, both at home. The Herons will host the four-team league tournament May 5-6.

No. 2 Washington and Lee kept pace, but then-No. 3 Middlebury couldn't muster much offense in a 9-6 loss at surging NESCAC rival and then-No. 11 Colby. The Panthers have a winnable home game Wednesday against Williams in which they can join No. 10 Hamilton with a final 8-2 league record.

No. 5 Gettysburg survived a pesky Dickinson squad, something No. 18 Franklin & Marshall must do Wednesday likely to set up a possible winner-take-all home game against No. 20 Muhlenberg for the Centennial Conference's regular-season crown. The Bullets must avoid a stumble at McDaniel to save a say in that as well.

No. 4 Brockport and No. 9 Cortland collide Tuesday with seeding on the line for the SUNYAC Tournament.

HOT

Colby (+4)

The Mules extended their win streak to nine, beating Colorado College by seven and then-No. 3 Middlebury by its largest margin of defeat this season, three goals. Colby finishes its regular season at home Wednesday against Bates with an opportunity to catch No. 10 Hamilton atop the NESCAC at 8-2 in league play.

NOT

Trinity (-7)

The Bantams have lost two straight, each coming at home by a single goal. Like Colby, Trinity still has a chance to tie Hamilton for first in the league's final regular-season standings if the Bantams can win at tricky Amherst Wednesday. Amherst will be desperate, needing a win to qualify for the NESCAC tournament.

NEW

Muhlenberg

The Mules have won four straight and control their own destiny in the race for the Centennial Conference regular-season championship. Already owner of a win over No. 5 Gettysburg, No. 20 Muhlenberg can clinch by beating Ursinus at home Wednesday and by winning at No. 18 F&M Saturday.

OUT

Tufts

The Jumbos fell to then-No. 17 Wesleyan at home Saturday, 15-8, falling to 9-5 overall. They'll prove a tough out in the eight-team NESCAC tournament, however.
