Who’s your favorite athlete?

JJ Watt from the Texans. I love the energy [he] brings to every game. I am [also] a huge fan of Wayne Gretzky.

What’s your favorite sports movie?

“The Mighty Ducks.” It is a classic. I was inspired by the knuckle puck and the idea of a signature shot.

What is your favorite hobby?

When I’m not playing lacrosse, I am most likely in the water. Water sports are a big passion of mine, including wake boarding and surfing.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

A running front flip. I tried so many times this fall to perfect it and I came close, but couldn't quite land it.

What are your pregame rituals?

I carry a light switch in my lacrosse bag so that come game time I figuratively and literally “flip the switch.” This is used as both a superstition and a mental focus tactic for me.

What’s been the proudest moment of your career?

That’s easy! Stepping out onto the field in the Carrier Dome for our first game last year is by far my proudest moment, ever. I remember feeling the sense of history crash on me like a wave. Many of “the greats” have played on that same field, including my coaches. Therefore, I felt the importance of carrying on what we like to call Syracuse tradition.

What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve overcome?

Losing my grandfather. He passed away last fall and he meant the world to me. He taught me how to drive a boat and play golf, which are two of my favorite things to do, especially when it was with him. I am extremely grateful I had my family to help me through it along with my ‘Cuse family as well.

Overtime

from Duke coach Kerstin Kimel

What’s your go-to pre-game meal?

A plain bagel with cream cheese. I’m pretty simple when it comes to breakfast foods and most of our games are in the mornings.

What "Friends" character do you most identify yourself with?

I have a combination of Chandler's humor and Monica's competitiveness.

Pose a question for our next subject.

What’s your biggest fear?

Extras:

If you could marry a celebrity, who would it be?

Any professional athlete, preferably in the NFL. It would be great to get tickets to see all the games and, also, we would have at least one thing in common.

Who is your role model?

I have had many role models in my life, including both of my parents, but my dad has been my biggest when it comes to lacrosse. He has always been on the sideline of my games, whether he was coaching or just supporting me. He would always practice with me in the backyard and has pushed me to reach my full potential.

What is your favorite inspirational quotation?

“You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.” – Wayne Gretzky

My interpretation of this quote is that if you are too afraid to take the shot and miss, you are never going to be able to score.

When you were younger, what did you want be when you grew up?

As a kid, I never really looked at my future past college. I just always knew I wanted to play lacrosse at a Division I program and compete at the highest level possible.

What’s on your bucket list?

To win a national championship of course!

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

Traveled to some of the islands of Hawaii the summer after I graduated high school. My aunt took me there and I was able to surf and jump off a 20-foot cliff into the ocean.

It’s 2027 — Where are you and what are you doing?

Hopefully coaching at a university that is close to a beach.
