The Premier Lacrosse League announced Wednesday that Garrett Epple, a Redwoods LC long-stick midfielder, has been suspended one game and issued the maximum fine for an incident with Matt Gaudet in Wednesday night's game against Chrome LC.

He served two one-minute penalties but was not ejected from the game after two vicious crosschecks against Gaudet. Epple can appeal. The Redwoods' next game is Wednesday night at 11 p.m.

You can view the particular incident in the tweet below.

Gaudet had become the subject of the lacrosse community after his mic'd up comments in his first game as a professional drew the ire of some fans of the sport, though his chirping was not discouraged by all. Gaudet's comments in a game against Chaos LC this past weekend were directed toward Chaos goalie Blaze Riorden.

The PLL issued the following statement.

Last season, Epple led the PLL in caused turnovers and was a finalist for defensive player of the year.
