ALTAMONT, N.Y. — Gait Lacrosse is excited to announce a landmark, multi-year agreement with two-time Tewaaraton Award winner Charlotte North.
The partnership includes collaboration with North on custom Gait products, sponsored camps, charity involvement and more.
“I am thrilled to partner with Gait Lacrosse in developing the next generation of top-performing women’s lacrosse equipment,” North said. “Everything that I have been fortunate to accomplish in college lacrosse — and at the recent World Championships — I did with a Gait Lacrosse stick in my hand. They are the best sticks around. I wouldn’t play with anything else.”
The all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s lacrosse, North helped lead the Boston College Eagles to their first-ever national championship title in 2021 and a runner-up finish in 2022. This season, North led the team with 92 goals, a personal-best 115 points and 139 draw controls. In 2021, North set a new Division I single-season lacrosse goals record with a total of 102.
In both 2021 and 2022, she was named the Division I women’s lacrosse Player of the Year, a consensus All-American, the ACC female Athlete of the Year and a finalist for the NCAA Woman of the Year, among many other personal accolades. North was recently nominated for an ESPY as the best women’s college athlete, which will be announced later this month.
North just completed a momentous campaign with the USA Women’s National Team, which won the gold medal at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship. Later this month, North will begin play in the second season of the Athletes Unlimited women’s professional lacrosse league, which made her its No. 1 draft pick earlier this summer.
“Charlotte is a special kind of player — her style of play and tenacity on the field is reflective of the Gait Lacrosse brand,” Gait Lacrosse owner Paul Gait said. “We are really excited to have her on board.”
Gait Lacrosse launched in the fall of 2019 with women’s lacrosse gear and a small assortment of men’s equipment. Now with a full suite of women’s gear and new lineup of men’s heads, the brand is on the forefront of its biggest year to date with new equipment slated for Fall.
“This partnership is a testament to the progression of Gait Lacrosse and our commitment to the growth of the women’s game,'” said Jenny Riitano Levy, VP of Product and Marketing. “We are looking forward to being a part of what’s next for Charlotte North.”
The agreement was facilitated by North’s agent, Peter Miller of JABEZ Marketing Group, based in Boston, Mass.
“This dynamic partnership will align a once-in-a-lifetime athlete with the most innovative performance-based lacrosse equipment manufacturer in the game. Together they will create exciting new products and technology for lacrosse players.”
North joins a growing list of elite women’s and men’s lacrosse athletes including as well as eleven college lacrosse programs in the Gait Family. North’s agreement with Gait is through her wholly-owned company, Ocho Lacrosse, LLC.
