Don’t count out Loyola just yet.

The Greyhounds, who looked ready for last rites 10 days ago following a 14-7 drubbing at the hands of Georgetown that dropped them to 5-7, won in overtime for the second time in six days Friday. Kevin Lindley scored a man-up goal with 3:31 remaining in the extra frame to lift Loyola to 13-12 victory over Lehigh at Ridley Athletic Complex.

The Greyhounds (7-7, 6-2 Patriot League) temporarily moved into second place in the Patriot League standings before Army’s win over conference frontrunner Boston University (see below) pushed them to third. They had already clinched a place in next week’s conference tournament and will host Bucknell in a quarterfinal Tuesday.

Loyola squandered a 5-0 lead and trailed 12-11 late into the final minute of regulation before a pair of costly illegal body check penalties on Lehigh’s Michael Gomez gave the Greyhounds new life. Adam Poitras fed Aidan Olmstead for the tying goal with 29 seconds left and then Olmstead found Lindley for the winner in overtime.

Lindley finished with five goals, Olmstead had four goals and an assist and Davis Lindsey had four assists, as the Loyola attack unit combined for 14 points.

Faceoff specialist Bailey Savio also had an outstanding game, going 17-for-28 against reigning first-team All-American Mike Sisselberger and scoring a third-quarter goal that made the Mountain Hawks’ first lead short-lived and ignited a 4-0 run.

Lehigh (7-6, 5-3) answered with a four-goal run of its own, however, and took its second lead of the game when Scott Cole scored to make it 12-11 with 3:01 remaining. The score stayed that way until Gomez was saddled with separate two- and one-minute non-releasable penalties with 39 seconds left, assuring that Loyola would keep the man advantage going into overtime if the Greyhounds tied the game.

They did just that, won the ensuing faceoff and held the ball at the end of regulation, removing the overtime faceoff from the equation and scoring on their first possession to seal the win.

In other Patriot League action Friday:

• Brendan Nichtern doled out a career-high eight assists and tied his career best with 10 points, leading No. 16 Army to a 15-14 victory at No. 19 Boston University. Coming off a letdown loss to archrival Navy, the Black Knights (11-3, 6-2) clinched the second seed and a quarterfinal bye in the Patriot League tournament. Army scored four straight goals in the third quarter to take an 11-7 lead. BU fought back and pulled to within a goal four different times, but never got even. The Terriers (10-4, 7-1) had already secured the top seed in the conference tournament.

• Navy maintained momentum from its big win at Army last week, scoring seven unanswered goals spanning the third and fourth quarters to beat Bucknell 13-6. Goalie Pat Ryan made 16 saves and faceoff specialist Nate Hammond went 10-for-16. The Midshipmen (9-5, 5-3) will be the fifth seed in the Patriot League tournament and will play at fourth-seeded Lehigh in the quarterfinals Tuesday.  The sixth-seeded Bison (9-5, 3-5), meanwhile, travel to third-seeded Loyola.

The lowest seed remaining will play BU, while the highest seed left will meet Army in the semifinals next Friday in Boston.

GEORGETOWN KEEPS ROLLING

No. 2 Georgetown won its ninth straight game and locked up the top seed in the Big East tournament with a 13-7 win Friday at Villanova.

Dylan Watson scored a game-high five goals and Graham Bundy Jr. contributed two goals and four assists for the Hoyas (13-1, 5-0), who have limited their last three opponents to seven or fewer goals.

The Hoyas host the Big East tournament next week in Washington, D.C. They’ll play fourth-seeded Marquette, with second-seeded Denver and third-seeded Villanova meeting in the semifinals next Thursday.

UMASS CLINCHES CAA BERTH

Attackmen Logan Liljeberg, Kevin Tobin and Gabriel Procyk scored three goals apiece to lead UMass to a 13-7 win over visiting Drexel, giving the Minutemen (8-5, 3-2) a spot in next week’s CAA tournament. The Dragons (6-7, 2-3) can still qualify for the postseason if Delaware beats Fairfield on Saturday.
