Fred Opie is an author and former Syracuse University and U.S. National Lacrosse team player growing integrity, effort, and care on and off the field.

It’s football season! Some of the top college lacrosse coaches that have spoken to on this show have talked about how much they love to recruit multisport athletes! Today Fred speaks with Hise Gibson who played collegiate football at the United States Military Academy at West Point. A native of Texas he is a husband, father, and an active duty Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army who is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering, at West Point. Before that he served as the Battalion Commander of the 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion 82 Airborne in which he was in charge of over 600 team members. He talks about what it was like growing up playing football in Texas, how he put himself in position to become a top prospect, and why some of the most talented players in his hometown did not have the opportunity to play football in college.
