How You Grow the Game

Committed to fueling the sport’s national growth and breaking down barriers to participation, US Lacrosse awarded 869 grants totaling $2.36 million to help grow the game at the community level during the 2019-20 grant cycle.

Funding for these grants is made possible through the support of US Lacrosse members, corporate partners and philanthropic donors. US Lacrosse has invested over $275 million into the sport’s national development since its founding in 1998.

”This is the type of impact our members and donors have always enabled,” US Lacrosse CEO Steve Stenersen said. “US Lacrosse relies on the investment of players, coaches, officials and fans — through their membership and donations — to effectively execute our mission to lead the sport’s continued growth and development.”

Did You Know?

Bridge Lacrosse, an urban youth and high school lacrosse organization in Dallas, was named after US Lacrosse’s Building Relationships to Initiate Diversity, Growth and Enrichment (BRIDGE) program of the 2000s. US Lacrosse provides discounted membership to Bridge Lacrosse, which over the years has received AED, diversity and sportsmanship grants.

Fourth- and fifth-grade girls at Four Heroes Elementary School in Lakewood, Wash., show off their new sticks courtesy of the US Lacrosse First Stick Program and the University Place Lacrosse Club back in February. The equipment grants had enabled five area homeless students to join UPLC teams.
