The Epoch/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’  and girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast (begins next week), Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Make it Epoch. 

Northeast

Jenn Medjid, Garden City (N.Y.)

Medjid nearly singlehandedly powered Garden City to a 10-9 overtime win over Massapequa (N.Y.) last week, scoring seven of her team’s 10 goals. The Boston College recruit netted Garden City’s final five goals, including the overtime winner on a free-position shot with 27.6 seconds left. She scored nine total goals in Garden City’s two wins last week.

Mid-Atlantic

Catie May, McDonogh (Md.)

Despite constant attention from opposing defenses, the senior attacker continues to stoke the nation's top team. May scored three goals March 21, helping the Eagles survive a rare scare from Garrison Forest (Md.), 13-11. The Maryland recruit posted two goals and an assist in Thursday's 17-2 rout of Roland Park Country (Md.) and added three more goals in Saturday's 21-6 victory at Mount de Sales (Md.) that pushed McDonogh's win streak to 161 games.

Hayley Reardon, The Woodlands (Texas)

The two-year starter had three goals, three assists, four takeaways and six groundballs to lead The Woodlands past four-time defending Texas Division I state champ St. John’s 13-10. Reardon assisted on the go-ahead goal to put the Highlanders up 11-10. In the final minutes, she had a crucial steal to secure the win.

Brennan Dwyer, Loyola Academy (Ill.)

Dwyer, a future Northwestern Wildcat, scored a combined 10 goals and four assists in two contests against Montini Catholic (Ill.) and York (Ill.) last week. In four games to start 2017, Dwyer has 19 tallies.

Charlie Rudy, Novato (Calif.)

The junior amassed seven goals and one assist to carry the Hornets to a stunning 16-6 win over then-West No. 2 Colorado Academy (Colo.). She then had six goals and an assist in a 14-3 win over Monte Vista-Danville (Calif.).
